Committee Meets
The executive committee of the
Beulaville PTA met Monday even-

' Belle Williams at her home. Plans
for the current session were dis
cussed and standing and special
: committees named. Following the
business a social hour was enjoy-
ed when the hostess served a de
? licious congealed salad with Iced
' tea.
Officers for 1947-48 are Mrs.
Williams, Pres.; Mrs. Vera Bostic,
Vive Pres.: Miss Mary Q. Brown,
Treas. The office of secretary Is
vacant. Miss Edith Brown having
resigned as she was leaving the
community. A successor will be
elected at the first regular meeting.

Mrs. Hettie Knowles, 75, died
early Wednesday at the home of
her son, S. H. Knowles in Asbe
boro. Funeral services were held
Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock
from Reef Hill Universalist Church
with the Rev. M. C. McQueen of
Clinton in charge. Burial was in
the church cemetery. Surviving
in addition to her son are one dau
ghter, Mrs. S. C. Hill of Wilming
ton; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bryant
of Magnolia, Mrs. O. M. Rich of
Richmond, Va.; and ona brother,
Thadeus Vann of Rose Hill.
