classing and grading provided
through the Smith-Doxey Grading

pointed out that "growers are not
in a position to bargain for the
fair market value of their cotton
unless they know the grade and
staple of each bale."
Every grower requesting this
service will be furnished a small
green card showing the official
U. S. grade, staple and CCC loan
value. A grower is then in a po
sition to know whether the price
offered him is below the govern
ment loan rate,' and if so, to place
his cotton under loan in an appro
ved warehouse to await more fay
vorable prices.

on ink to remove it from textiles,
but chemests advise other methods

Writing inks differ so much in
composition that no one remover
suits all. What removes one kind
of ink may set another. The wash
able, non-permanent inks, often
used in schools, will come out by
rinsing in water and then- soaring
in soapsuds, but soap win set iron
tennate inks. Prompt treatment
while the ink is fresh and moist is
most important, because some inks

As soon as ink is spilled, spread
cornmeal, cornstarch or talcum on
the stain to absorb as much of the
