WEEKS Permanent Pastures: J. B. Stroud of Kenansvllle Is one of many farmers in Duplin who are now getting good grazing from permanent pastures. He seeded 2Vi acres to White Dutch Clover,-Orchard Grass, Red Top and Lespede za in the spring of 1945. Before seeding the soil was limed and a good fertilizer applied. Mr. Stroud reported last , week that his three head of work stock were unable to eat all of the feed this pasture pro duced since early last spring. He put 10 head of cattle on the pasture for a few weeks last summer to utilize the good grazing. He also reports that his work stock had re ceived practically no hay of any kind during the spring and summer months. More farmers can help solve their hay problems by estab lishing such pastures.
