THOMAS X BAKER, who before her marriage on October 18 In Wallace was Miss -Dorothy Vann Edgerton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. D. , Edgerton of Wallace. Mr. Baker is the son Of Mr and Mrs. W. B. Baker of Wallace Williams on November 6, at Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston. Mrs. Casebolt is the former Miss Sue B Lee of Kenansville. Day Of Prayer Held A Day of Prayer was ooserved in the Methodist Church hero on Nov. 2, at 4:00 p. m. Mrs. W. M. Ingram was the leader and the theme was "The Training For Christian Lead ers." Scripture readings to intro duce the four talks were given by Mrs. Stokes Westbrook. The first talk, "National College, Kansas City, Mo." was given by Mrs. E. A Newton. 2 "Hiva Nan College, Foochow, China" by Mrs. C. E. Quinn. 3. Scarritt College, Nash ville, Tenn., by Erma E. Williams. 4. "Methodist Institute, KiDeirao Preto, Brazil," by Mrs. J. H. Dau ghtry. .The offering which was taken went to help provide a library administration building lor nation al college; rehabilitation of the war wrecked campus of Hiva Nan Col lege; a dormitory for Scarritt; and a dormitory for Methodist Institute. noon in the home of Mrs. A. After business, a so cial hour was enjoyed at which time the hostess served stuffed dates, cheese straws and coca colas. The Ella Cooper Circle met on Mondav evening in the home of Mrs. Amos Brinson with circle chairman, Mrs. E. C. Tyndail pre siding. . The program on "Lottie Moon" was given by Mrs. C. B, Guthrie. A social hour was enjoy ed after which the hostess served pineapple cake, coffee add nuts. AUcnd District FHA Meet The Second District of Future Homemakers of America held its annual rally on November 1, 1947 at the Beaufort High School s in Beaufort. The presiding officer. Miss Aileen Casey of Mt Olive, was assisted by Mrs. Helen Dry King, teacher-adviser of the district. Miss Casey la also State FHA presi dent this year. During the business session the roll .was called and the; minutes were read by Miss Grace Baker of the Kenansville Chapter. The treas urers report was given by a repre sentative of the Warsaw Chapter. The courtesy report was given by Julia Williams of the B. F.
