Plans were made at this meeting for the Presbytery Rally to be held in Cla.kton on April 4th, 1948. Mrs. G. V. Gooding and Mrs. N. B. Boney took a large group of Kenansville boys and girls and Rev. Mrs. Kornegay Attends Institute Mrs. Gordon Kornegay of the Duplin County Health Department has returned from attending an In stitute for tuberculosis workers, conducted by the N. C. Tuberculo sis Association in Raleigh last week. Mrs. Kornegay reports a very in teresting meeting and was happy to have had this opportunity of hearing authorities on the sui ject of tuberculosis control speal.. Among speakers appearing on the program were Mr. F. D. Hop kins, Executive Secretary of the National Tuberculosis Association; Mr. Frank Webster, Executive Sec retary of the N. C. An open Forum was held at the end of every lecture with practi cally every phase of Tuberculosis control brought out, including the use of Strepeomycin which is still in the experimental stage. Early spring flowers were used for decoration. At the conclusion of play Mrs. J. O. Stokes was given a pie for win ning high score for members and Miss vVilliams was also presented a pie. The hostess served delicious grape pie, coffee and smted nuts Week Of Prayer A Week of Prayer was observed by the women of the local Baptist Church during the past week. The Monday meeting was held with Mrs. E. V. Vestal; Tuesday, with Mrs. C. B. Sitterson; Wednesday with Mrs. Thad Jones; Thursday, with Mrs. Perry Dobson; and Fri day, with Mrs. C. D. Dobson. Prayer services were held and a program was given each day. Girl Scout Week -This is Girl Scout Week and the girls of the local troop and of thi' Brownie troop are planning to at tend Church in Uniform on Sun day morning, March 14.
