- U DC Meeting The James Kenan Chapter Uni ted Daughters of the Confederacy held their April meeting Thursday in the home of Mrs. J. R. Grady in " Kenansville with Mrs. N. B. Boney . of Kenansville, and Mesdames Har vey Boney and O. S. Burnette of Rose Hill, as associate hostesses. . There were 28 present : Mrs. Robert L. West opened the meeting with "America", followeo . by the ritual, led by Chaplain Mrs. C A. Womack, and tbe flag salutes, v The minutes were read and ap proved and Mrs. L. B. Huie gave the Treasurer's report Mrs. C. B. Best presented a most interesting account of the 9th District meeting held in Faison, April 6, at which time ten members of the local chap ter were present. Mrs. Henry L. Stevens, Jr. brought to the minds of members needs of the Confederate Woman's Home in Fayetteville, and it was decided to give a pantry shower, with gifts to be brought to the June meeting,, as the meeting will be in the form of a Memorial Pay serv ice held on Sunday afternoon, My 16 at 3 o'clock in the Warsaw Bap tist church. Guest speaker will be Hon. R. L. McMillan of Ralel-h. The public is invited. At the Memo rial Day service there will be 20 Crosses of Honor bestowed upon World Wwr Veterans of World War II.
