Littleton of Ke nansville, N. C. to First Sergeant Eugene Weeks, son of Mrs. C. L. Fisher and the Late Mr. A. F. Weeks of fayetteville, N. C, Route 2, was solemnized Saturday even ing, April 17th, at 6 30 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Weeks of Fayetteville. N. C. Hev. Baxter Walker, Baptist Minister j officiated at the double ring cere mony. Mrs. C. S. Weeks, organist, j sister-lin-law of the groom pre-1 sented a program of wedding mu sic. The home was beautifully deco rated with spring flowers and ivy. The bride, given in marriage by he father, wore a beige dress with Station Hospital, Ft. Jackson, S. C with the U. S. Army Nurse Reserve Corps. Sgt. Weeks was graduated from Central High School near Fayette ville, N. C. and is now stationed with the 5th Infantry Division at Ft. Jackson, S. C. Lt. Weeks has served with the Army Nurse Corps since March 7941 having spent 27 months In Australia and New Guinea with the 33rd Surgical Lmt. Sgt. Weeks has served with the Armed Forces since March 1042 having spent 20 months in the European Theatre with the 1st Infantry Division. Immediate families of the bride and groom were present Out of town guests were Mrs. Hubert Brown, Kenansville; Miss Kathleen Grady of Warsaw; and Miss Peg5y McDonald of Four Oaks. Stokes is with her sister who is very ill in Atlanta, Georgia. Mrs. D. C. Cannap of China Grove spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. Lester Brinson. Mr. and Mrs. Jiles Smith of China Grov? came for the week end and wen accompanied home by Mrs. Cannan. Little Woody Brinson who has been a patient at General Memo rial Hospital in Kii.ston returned to his home on Monday. Mesdames Inez C. Boney and and Burnette of Rose Hill and Mrs N. B. Boney and J. R. Grady enter tained the U. D. C. on last Thurs day afternoon. An account of this meeting is on the Warsaw page. Mrs. G. V. Gooding visited her daughter, Theresa at Queens Col lege several days this week: Mrs. N. B. Boney attended a Social Conference in Charlotte on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Mrs. M. F. Allen, Sr., visited Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Allen, Jr. on Friday night. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Ingram, Bobby and Betty visited Mrs. In gram's mother, Mrs. Cheek in New Port on Sunday. Mrs. S. W. Newton spent Friday and Saturday in Goldsboro. Mrs. Mary Southerland and Misses Eleanor, Ellen and Mary Beth Southerland visited Mrs. Southerland's sister Miss Ella C. Cogdell of Fayetteville on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Whitfield and daughter spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Rogers in Goldsboro. Miss Doris Bostic of Flora Mac donald College spent the week end at her home here. Norwood Boney, Jr. of Chapel Hill was home for the week end. Gavin to WrightsvilU Beach for the day Sunday. Duplin Native Dies In Ml. Olive Hortense Tyndall, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Eugene C. Tyndall of Ke nansville. Funeral services were held at the Cabin Free Will Eaptlst Church by Rev. Lloyd Vernon, pastor on Monday afternoon at 2:30. Inter ment was i.i the church cemetery. He is survived by his parents. two brothers, Mack and Hughie of the home and one sister. Mrs Marvin Rhodes of the home com munity. Mrs. Susan Carr Kornegay, 73, died at 11:30 Sunday night at her home in Mt. Olive after five years ef declining health. Funeral ser vices were held at the home on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock With the Rev. B. E. Dotson, Phesbyter- ian pastor, in charge. Burial was in Maplewood cemetery Surviving are her husband, W. Hampton Kor negay; two sons, Wade H. Jr. cf Mt. Olive and Grey B. Kornegay of Duke University, Durham; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Durham of Swansboro and Frances Kor.ie gay of the North Carolina Public Health Service and two Uu rs, Mrs. J. O. Loftin of Mt. Olive and Vrs. Annie Jones of Hicl ory. Mrs. Kor negay was the daughter of the late James B. C ur and Martha Fran ces Miller Carr of this county. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
