Rev. J. O; Morrison offi ciated at the double ring ceremony vhich took place in tne urove Presbyterian church in Kenansville. Prior to the ceremony Jimmy Jerrittt, pianist, presented a pro-am of wedding music and Mrs. Charles Watson sang, "Because", hnd "The Sweetest Story." I The bride, given in. marriage by Jier brother, Lawrence, wore a fcown of white slipper satin. The bodice Jhad a rouna illusion yoKe '.rimmed in wide French lace. The leeves ended in caua uiy points jver the hanJ. Her full skirt ex ended into a full length train. The fingertip veil of illusion was attached to a circlet of lilies of the i-alley. She carried a white prayer book topped, with a purp'-s orchid. L'he book was showered with rib on in which were tied lilies of the ralley. Her only ornaments were a string of pearls with matching ear bobs, gifts of the groom. ) Miss Eleanor Southerland, twin ister of the bride, who was maid it honor and her only attendant vore a dress of white moire taf feta fashioned as that of the bride. Mrs. Willis is a graduate of Ke nansville high school and a 1942 graduate of W. C. in Greensboro, She taught Home Economics in the Clinton high schoul and was Assis tant Home Agent in Johnston County and Home Agent in Wayne. Mr. Willis is a graduate of Hoke County high school and served 33 months overseas in Trinidad, Brit ish, and West Indies and Philip pines, and is now on detached duty as an instructor of the National Guard. Following the wedding Mrs. Lawrence Southerland entertained on the lawn of her home at a re ception honoring the bridal couple. Guests were greeted by Mr, and Mrs. F. W. McGowen and intro duced to the receiving line compos ed of the hostess, the bridal couple, Miss Eleanor Southerland, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Willis, and Mrs. Charles Watson. Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Morrison, at the front steps, di rected the guests to the gift room where Mrs. Billie Whitfield, Mrs. Alton Newton, Mrs. Walter Stroud were receiving, and Mrs. Louise Mitchell and Jimmy Jerritt ren dered music. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Vestal directed to the bridal reg istry, presided over by Miss Ella C. Cogdell, and Mrs. John Currie. The quest was directed to the punch table on the east side of the lawn by Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jerritt. The brides table was covered with a white damask cloth. Punch bowls at each end of the table were presided over by Miss Pattie Sue and Miss Mary Beth Southerland, sisters of the bride. Mrs. N. B. Boney was hos tess at large. Good-byes were said oy Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Murphy Girl Scouts Meet Mrs. A. T. Outlaw met with the Girl Scouts on last Tuesday after noon in the absence of their leader. The meeting was held in the club rooms.' Miss Sara West Outlaw pre sided and Angela Daughtry kept the roll. Several games were en joyed after the regular business. Attend Meet In Burgaw Mrs. P. J .Dobson, president of the Kenansville Woman's Culb, at tended a luncheon in Burgaw on Wednesday. This luncheon was a meeting of the clubs of the eleventh district. The purpose of the lunch eon was to discuss the' North Caro lina campaign for America over seas aid and united nations appeal for children. Sunday School Party Held The Baptist Jr. Adult Class had a barbecued chicken supper Friday night with a good attendance. A. Colon Holland is teacher of this class. The supper was given at the lodge building and coca colas were served. The class went to the beach Thursday. Last month they also had a picnic supper on Sheriff Wil liamson's farm. This Is a very ac tive class and their monthly getA togethers are thoroughly enloyed May Birthday Party The annual May Birthday Tarty was held Monday evening in Grove Presbyterian church with the pres ident, Mrs.-A. T. Outlaw, presiding, Mrs. C. J. Murphy acted, as secre tary pro-tem. The devotional taken from Psalms was led by Mrs. N. B. Boney and Mrs. Thelma Stroud sang a solo. The program "Appointed To Ser ve" was led by Mrs. A. W. Taylor who explained the object of the May Birthday meeting and told that the proceeds of the meeting were to Go: 60 to the Assembly's Train ing School in Richmond, Va., and 40 to the Mountain Retreat As sociation at Montreat. The program was given in playlet form with Mesdames A. W. Taylor, Louise Mitchell, J.R. Grady and Miss Mar tha Pickett taking parts. The meet ing was closed with a prayer by Miss Hilda Clontz. Guests of the meeting were in vited into the church parlor where punch was served by Miss Janet Boney, Miss Mary Beth Souther land passed cookies, and Miss Sara West Outlaw served nuts and mints. C. Tyn- dall until they can locate an apart ment. Miss Betty Whitfield underwent a tonsilectomy last week. She is recuperating nicely. Misses Gilda and Gloria Whit field spent the week end with their mother, Mrs. Betty Whitfield. Mrs. Don Snider and son Bobby returned Tuesday to their home in Cleveland. Ohio. They spent the past month with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Dail. Mrs. Nan Burt of Dillon. S. C. is visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Wal lace for several days. The n v. Goodine family attend ed the graduation of Miss Theresa Gooding from Queens College this week. Mr. J.' L. Williams and Mr. and Mrs . K W Newton.
