His wife, a native, of Danvijle, Va. and graduate of the nnntut Train. ing School, is also a member of the class. Among other members of the class is Miss Gloria H. Blanton of Teachey. DUPLIN COUPLE SHOW HOME IMPROVEMENT Mr. and Mrs. WellsVThdmas of the Cabin community, nils county, have made real progress In impro ving their living conditions, reports Miss Hilda Clontz, home agent for State College Extension Service. For. a number of years, while living In an unpainted frame house, the couple spent much time plan ning their new home. They tried to plan everything which would make life more comfortable. The entrance to the living room was placed where it would e most convenient. Plenty of closets were included in their plans. This advance planning has paid off, for the family now has an at tractive 8-room brick house which might well serve as a model for other homes. The kitchen, modern FARMERS! . As one farmer to another, who is interested in the welfare of all farmers in Duplin county, I urge you to go out arid vote for a fellow farmer, Kerr Scott, for Governor, on Saturday, June 26th. Kerr Scott has always worked for the best interest of the farm ers. He took the sand but of fertilizer, and 'the sawdust out of feed. ' I have attended most of the, farm meetings held in this state and Kerr Scott was always present at these meetings fighting to help better the farmer's way of life. He helped to establish the Tobacco Stabilization corporation, and this past spring he begged the officials in Washington not to cut the tobacco acreage over 20 per cent. He has always worked for the farmers' interest even when our politicians in North Carolina were not interested in the farmer. . So far as I know, Charlie Johnson has never attended a farm meeting, or done anything for Duplin county farmers. Rivers John son has never done anything to help Duplin county farmers either. He worked against farmers in the Legislature. He killed the log rule bill that would have saved farmers a lot of money. The only thing Rivers knows about farming is milking. He is an expert at milking people dry before he leads them to the bar of justice.. t - . ' We can show the political bosses and big money men that we can and will stick together and beat them. All I have to off er you is the satisfaction of knowing that you are supporting a farmer and farmer's candidate. Scott's supporters are volunteers. They don't have the thousands of dollars from big banks and big businesses that the machine is trying to beat the farmer-candidate with. The machine will do anything to beat the farm er candidate! Come on, farmers, let's not sell our birthright for a mess of pot tage, even the New Bills so freely distributed by the Johnjson ring are tainted. . .''" ;; . A dirt farmer of Duplin county, LeRoy G.
