Miss Dorothy Oates Wed To Mr. Lef ler Miss Dorothy Gray Oates of Ral eigh and Seven Springs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard A. Oates of Seven Springs, was married on Saturday evening to Deward F. Lef ler, son of Mrs. R. H. Lefler of Al bemarle and the late Mr. Lefler, in a ceremony held in the Hayes Bar ton Methodist Church, Raleigh. The Rev. W. Stanley Potter, pastor, offi ciated. The bride, who was given in mar riage by her uncle, P. H. Williams of Newport News, Va. wore a bridal gown of white satin fashioned With a sweetheart neckline and ornament ed with seed pearls. A bandeau of seed pearls, holding a veil of Illu sion, formed her headdress. She carried a prayer book topped with a white orchid and showered with baby's breath. Miss Vicky Manning of Goldshoro the maid of honor, wore a pink off shoulder vel-ray-dot gown, with a bouffant skirt, fashioned with a bustle effect. She wore matching ALUS-CHALMERS All Jobs JJZ bandeau and mitts and carried a colonial bouquet of mixed summer flowers. . The bridesmaids were Jean Mew born of Savannah, Ga.; Juanita Williams of Newport News, Va.; and Virginia Casey of Kinston. Their gowns of Nile green were fashioned identical with that worn by the maid of honor. They also carried colonial bouquets of mixed summer flowers. Clair Roberts of Greensboro was best man, and the ushers were Wal ter Clark of Greensboro, Joe Atkin son of Edinburgh; Texas, and Ben Erdman of Fayetteville. A program of nuptial music was given by Mrs. Alton Tripp, organ ist, and Herbert Carson of Char lotte, soloist. Mrs. Oates, mother of the bride, wore an aqua gown trimmed with gold sequins and a corsage of mix ed summer flowers. Mrs. Lefler, mother of the groom, wore a pink gown and a corsage of mixed summer flowers. Immediately following the cere mony the bride's parents entertain ed at a reception at Daniels House. After the reception the bridal cou ple left for a wedding trip to the mountains of Western North Caro- I lina. Mrs. Lefler was graduated from the Seven Springs sc;iools and from the Rex Hospital School of Nurs ing. Since becoming a RN she has been a member of the Rex Hospital nursing staff. Mr. Lefler is a graduate of the Albamarle Schools and was gradu ated from Stale College, receiving his B. S. degree in mechanical en gineering in the class of 1948. He is a veteran of World War II. Upon their return they will make their home, temporarily, in Fort Wayne, Ind., where Mr. Lefler will be connected vith Ihe General El ectric Company. Kinston were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Z. M.
