Here's hoping the fatted Calf nasi
had a calf, the red carpet has no

window is an electric light, for the
Prodigal has' returned, the lost has
been found, and the BUGLE I
BLOWS AGAIN! j
The way has been dark and
stormy, the night has been cold and
drear, but mine eyes have lifted
' and in a great distance I saw ap
- proaching a beautiful light, and
my heart was -warmed within me.
Is it? No, - Yes. Can it be? No. -Yes;
It is! Yes, it is!! The SUN! Ah,
that beautiful light, that glorious
orb, that gracious life-giving sun,
closer and closer, warmer and
warmer, closer and CLOSER and
then - Boy! Aint it been hot?!
The above disjointed and irre
levant remarks were occasioned by
a great event, I might say - well,
I will say, the rebirth of the BU
GLE has been brought about by
the rebirth of the minds of two
men. Yes, all this has been brought
about by the advent of two of our
most esteemed citizens who have
seen the light, and felt the heat.

(near the outskirts) they have va
cated their drab quarters and dimes

emerges into a .beautiful Butterfly,
they have, built a beautiful new
home, and' will spread their wings
July 12th and start making their
Dollars have more Cents, and right
in the heart of town too, right next

Yep, you're right, the Bugle is

Polio Below Normal

epidemics, and It is me opinion-vi
many persons that this area Is the
best place to avoid it.
Raleigh, N. C. North Carolina's
resort areas are almost entirely
free of polio, according to the North
Carolina State Health Department.
Charts show that in the 18 coun
ties west of the Blue Ridge, which
comprise all of the mountain resort
area, there are only three cases of
the disease, which is below normal.
On the seashore there has been
only a single case reported.
Governor Cherry said that it was
unfortunate many people have the
idea it is unsafe to take their va
cations in North Carolina resorts.
Mrs. Nancy
Dies In Hospital
Mrs. Nancy Kathryn Britt, 27,
who resided at Rose Hill, died in
James Walker Hospital Tuesday
night, June 29, at 9 o'clock. She
had been very ill since Saturday
having undergone a serious oper
ation Saturday afternoon. Funeral
services were hr!d from the home
of her father in Rose Hill. Inter
ment was in the Rose Hill cemetery.
She Is survived by her husband
William Britt; two daughters, Joyce
and Brenda, allof Hose Hill; her
parejits, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Lanier
of Rose Hill; four sisters, Mrs. J. A.
Peak of Elizabethtown, Mrs. G. B.
Broeckhart of Mound, Minn., Mrs.
N. V. Grady of Kenansville and
Mrs. Johnnie Knowles of Rose Hill.
Attend Conference
' Frances Jean Patterson and Mary
Sue Burch attended the Methodist
Youth Assemblies at Loulsburg last
week. Approximately 300 young
people from eastern North CaroUna
were present. Frances Jean was
elected Nominator of Conference
Officer for the Wilmington Dist
rict; Mary Sue v as elected Senator
from her Prayer. Group.
