With The Sick Mrs. Zobe Albertson, who wns taken ill last week, is improving. Mr. G. S. Muldrow, a patient in Parritt Memorial Hospital. Kinston, has improved a great deal. Mrs. Ada Williams who has been a hospital patient is now at houie feeling much better. Funeral Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Thomas, 40, widow of G. J. Tho mas of Beulaville, who died after a long illness at home early Sat urday morning were conducted on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Beulaville Free Will .'iaptist Church by the Rev. Lloyd Vernon, assisted by Rev. S. A. Smith. Bur ial was in the family cemetery She was a member of a promi nent family, a lifelong member of the Baptist Free Will Church and a member of the Supreme Forest Woodman Circle for several years. She was the daughter of the late Esley B. and Etta Thigpen Thomas and was born and reared in the Beu laviile community. Suiviving are two sons, Glen wood and Bennie Ray Thomas; three brothers, W. A., A. E and John Thomas; one sister, Mrs. Les sie Exum, all of Beulaville and a number of nieces and nephews. Entertains Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Bostic enter tained his mother. Mrs. Melissa Bostic, at a covered dish luncheon Sunday, Sept. 5, celebrating her 79th birthday. Approximately 100 guests attended. Personals Mrs. B. O. Harris and Mrs. Ray Humphrey shopped in Goldsboro and Kinston on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Lanier and family of Wake Forest are at home visiting their parents. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Jack Morton in Fay etteville the past week end. Miss Judy Mudrow, Miss Kate Murrill Buggs, Mr. Archie Muld drow, Mrs. S. A. Pope and Mrs. Willie Fedora were in Kinston on Wednesday. Mrs. J. D. Sandlin visited Mrs. Aubrey Tumor in Pink Hill on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Quinn and Miss Wyoma Quinn of Chapel Hill have been at home for several days. Mr J. D. Sandlin and Mr. Hny Humphrey wre in Kinston on business; Thursday. Misses athryn Young, Johnnie Teachey and Patsy Wilson visited Mrs. Charlton Sandlin and Mrs. J D. Sandlin Thursday. Rev. W. H. Goodman was in Kin ston Saturday. Mrs. J. D, Sandlin was in Kin ston Saturday. Rev. and Mrs. B. B. Carlyle have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Whaley this week. Mr. B. O. Harris of Winston- Salem was home several days this week. Engagement Sewing Club Mrs. Caroline Gavin was hostess to the BMG Sewing Club Tuesday a' ternoon. The house was decorated with garden flowers. Mrs. Daisy Craven was the only visitor. A de lightful sweet course was served to those present. Surprise Party Mrs. E. C. Tyndall gave a delight ful surprise party to her daughter, Jean, last Wednesday evening. About 30 young people were pres ent and enjoyed playing games and contests. Miss Tyndall received a number of useful and attractive presents. Home-made peach ice cream and cake were served. Personals Mr. and Mrs. John Baldwin of Wilmington visited Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jones one day last week. Bill Ingram spent Labor Day week end at home. Miss Janet Boney and Miss Olive Grace Chambsr, dau ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cham bers of Mt. Olive, whose engage ment to Claudy Karl Heath, son of Mr. and Mrs. Felix T.
