Q. Is lime harmful to potatoes?
A. Lime in the soU favors the
disease organism which cause po
tato scab.
- Q. Is it good practice to use saw
dust as a mulch?
A. The main disavantage in us
ing sawdust is that it tends to tie
up the nitrogen in the soil. It does
not cause any actual loss of this
plant food nor does it cause the
soil to become acid or alkaline. It
merely requires extra nitrogen dur
ing the time in which the dust it

Q. Which type of mill-burr, ham
mer or roller is best suited for
grinding grain for dairy cattle?
A. Engineers think that hammer

the feed to the mill is shut off.
