Mr.-and Mrs. M. i. Carlton of Warsaw and daughter, Mrs. Estelle West of Thomasville called on Miss Macy Cox Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Carlton of Warsaw were in town Saturday ev ening. Mrs. Lucille Bradshaw and Mrs. Alvah Brown gave a miscellaneous shower Saturday night at the home of the latter in honor of her son, Linwood and wife who were re cently married in Norfolk, Va. The young couple arrived Saturday f ternoon and they were the recipi ents of a lot of attractive and us -ful gifts. Delicious refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Alvah Brown returned to Norfolk with them to visit another ron Woodrow. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the Negro Baptist Church was hos tess to their Union Meeting of the K?nansville Eastern Missionary Baptist Association. It was attended by a large delegation from the var ious churches. On Friday night a program ow welcome was rendeied followed by an educational sermon by Rev. J. M. Mallette, pastor of First Baptist, of Warsaw and Ke nansville churches, which was very timely and inspiring. The highlight of Saturday's session was "The Deacon's House" by Deacon E. M. Butler of Wilmington, president of the Baptist State Sunday School Convention, and is also general manager of North Carolina Mutual Insurance Co. of Durham. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Tucker And daughter visited Mrs. Hubert Tuck er and little-Ruby Rouse in -James Walker Hospital Sunday Ruby's father spent Sunday with her and Mrs. James Gaylor visited her on Tuesday.
