The Kenansville High School Graduating Class of 1927 held their annual reunion at the lunch room of the Kenansville High School on Friday evening, April 22, at 7:30. Those attending were Mrs. Ellis Vestal, Misses Mary Lee Sykes, Margaret Williams and Mr. Paul Ingram of KeansvUle. Mrs. Davis Bland of Magnolia, Mrs. H. E. Blake of Burgaw. Mrs. Manley Kornegay and Miss Viola Westbrook of Seven Springs, Mrs. .Percy Blanton of Cove City, and Mrs. Wilbur Adams of Carolina Beaob, Visitors were -Mrs. Paul Ingram, Messrs. Ellis Vestal, Percy Blanton, Davis Bland and Harvey Blake. Mrs. Vestal and Mrs. Blanton were hostesses.:. The table was cov ered with nile green and pink, the plass colors, and decorated with . sweet peas. . The suests were served fruit Juice cocktail, ham, baby limas, carrot strips, .potato salad, hot rolls, Jam, iced tea and strawberry shorttake a-la-mode. After a de lightful hour, those present made a small donaticm to the Kenan Memorial Auditorium A tour of the school building was also tnade. Women Of Church The meeting of the Women of the Church was held Wednesday afternoon. In the church with a good attendance and the president, Mrs. Caroline Gavin, presiding. When the meeting was opened, Mrs. N. Gooding led a very Interesting program, with Mrs. Mary Souther land conducting the devotional which was tied in with the pro gram. Mrs. Boney also took part and the meeting was closed with a song. Seniors Entertained Mr. and Mrs. F. W. MeGowen were hostesses to the senior class, the faculty and their husbands and wives on Friday evening at the club building. The rooms were most at tractively decorated in pastel shades, which are the senior class colors, and bowls of flowers and pastel candles centered the tables. Places were marked with a scroll of the class roll. Menu of fried chicken, boiled ham, candied potatoes, butter beans, hot rolls, pickles and iced tea were served. Individual cakes decorated with "Seniors '49". and block ice cream in pastel shades were served for dessert. Club Hostess Mrs. G. V. Gooding was hostess to the members of the Thursday Afternoon Club with Mesdames C. B. Sitterson, J. O. Stokes and E. W. Sadler as visitors. During play, grape juice and nuts were served. At the conclusion Mrs. P. J. Dobson was high scorer for members and Mrs. J. O. Stokes for visitors. Table cut prizes were won by Mesdames Stckes and Sadler. Pineapple short cake and coffee were servea oy we hostess. Stanley Party A Stanley party was held on Fri day afternoon in the Sunday School rooms at Grove church. Proceeds went to the organization of the Women of the Church. Another party is to be held on May 20th. Camp Trailee Camp Trailee will be open this year from June 26th to August 6th 1949. Brownie Scouts week will be the week of June 26th and July 3rd. Intermediate and Senior Scorns the weeks of July 10, July 24 and July 31. Any Scouters interested should contact Mrs. N. B. Boney or Mrs. W. M. Ingram. Personals Dr. and Mrs. Jim Wilson and children of Durham and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mercer and children of Goldsboro were Sunday guests of their parents Mr. and Mrs. S. Barchft, District Superintendent of the Wilmington District, North Carolina Methodist Conference, performed the double- ring ceremony which , united in marriage Miss Erma Ejfcabeth Wil liams of Raleigh and Kenansville and the Reverend Murrell Kelso Glover of Durham and Cumberland, Maryland. The quiet wedding took place at the home of the bride's parents, Mr, and Mrs. H. D. Williams of Kenaus ville, before an improvised altar, banked by longleafed pines, floor candelabra bearing lighted cathe dral tapers, and tall- baskets o white gladioli., -roses, and carna- tionSU.Mrs.'1-eStee W, Mjtohe,l, pianist, an Mrs., Walter J. 6froud,l vocalist, both of Kenansville, fur nished a program, of nuptial music, including "Traumerae", "Because", and the Lohengrin. "Wedding March." ' Both the bride and bridegreom I were dressed in navy blue, the I bride wearing white accessories and a corsage of white roses. She was escorted to the altar by her father who gave her in 'marriage; l Immediately after-the ceremony the bride's cake was. cut, and ice cream molds and pufich were ser ved. The bride is a graduate of Saint Mary's School, Raleigh, N. C, has an A. B. degree from Duke UnK versity and has done graduate work in English at Wake Forest College. She taught in Uie public schools of North Carolina and West Virginia, was for a time Assistant Cashier of the Waccamaw Bank and Trust Company in its Kenansville Office, and is presently employed as Eng lish teacher at Hardbarger Busi ness College, Raleigh. -' The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde A. Glover of Cum berland, Maryland. He graduated from Bridgewater College in Bridge water, Virginia with the A. B. de gree. For several years he was employed !n chemical industry as chemist and supervisor for Celenese Corpora tion of America and the Hercules Powder Company. At proient he is Hearing his Bachelor of Divinity degree at Duke University. , - After June 1 the Reverend and Mrs. Glover will be at home in the Methodist, parsonage, Kenansville, N.
