Glover, Pastor Next Sunday, July 31, being the fifth Sunday of the month, there will be no preaching service on the charge. The pastor met with the Young People's group of Magnolia Monday evening, July 25, for an evening of recreation. The recreational ac tivities were based on Chinese dress and customs because the group had just finished a study unit on China. As well as several of the young people being dressed In Chi nese garb, the decorations of the room gave an atmosphere of China. The program was concluded by folk dancing and then refreshments. Thanks to Mrs. C. H. Pope for her able planning and directing of this evening of fun. This next week end, July 30-31, is Youth Activities week end at the Rose Hill Methodist Church for our Sub-District. A sizeable group from Magnolia has already made plans to be there. We want some of our young people from Unity and also from Kenansville to attend the Sunday afternoon and evening programs, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The picnic supper will be at 3:13 and those who go are asked to take a picnic lunch. The program promises to be beneficial and should offer some good ideas to be brought back to our local groups. At the request of the pastor, the Chairman of the Board of Stewards, Mr. O. P. Johnson, called a meet ing of the Board of the Kenansville Church for Tuesday evening, July 26. Since only three members were there and since it is necessary to have more than this before any constructive planning for new giowth can be undertaken, the group adjourned . to meet again Tuesday evening August 9, at 8:00 p.m. at the Kenansville church.' We look forward to having every mem ber present at that time. . The pastor is spending his visit' ing hours this week and next in the Kenansville and Wesley com munities. Contacting the commissioners and securing their permission for use of the courtroom, Byrd and Rife had one row of seats removed from the room and in regular county court Monday morning there was the usual court activity, plus Rife working on a scene of Rockfish Creek. Mr, Rife admits he has painted many scenes in many - unusual places, but none before in the mid dle of a'courtroom while court was in session. v r Girl Scouts Meet The Girl Scouts held a routine meeting Tuesday afternoon at the club rooms.
