Glover, Pastor Church services for next Sunday, August 7, will be: 11:15 a.m. - Kenansville; 3:00 p.m. - Wesley; 8:00 p.m. - Friendship. The subject will be "What Shall We Do With Ambition?" On the second Sunday of Aug' ust the pastor will preach on the subject, "Alcohol -- Both Sides of the Question," which will be in the churches of Kenansville, Unity, and Magnolia. The Official Board of the Mag nolia Church met on Wednesday night. July 27, and the meeting ,vas well attended. Much progress was made in the discussion and planning for a fut.ire program. The Revival Meeting was set for September 11-16. The Board set August 19, at 8:30 p.m. as the time of its next monthly meeting. The Official Board of Unity Church met on Sunday night, July 31, at 8X0 p.m. and the meeting was very well attended. Much progress was also made toward future plans. The Revival Meeting was set for September 4-9. The Chairman of the Board of Stewards of Kenansville ha3 called a meeting for August 9 at 8:00 p.m. at the church. We will look forward to having all members present. There was conducted at the Rose Hill Methodist Church on July 30- 31 a Youth Activities Week end. This week end was of much value to the young people of our area. Twelve of our young people of Magnolia attended, and two, Sally Newton and Kathryn Quinn, at tended from Kenansville. At the time of this writing the Superintendent of the Kenansville Sunday School, Mr. O. P. Johnson, is planning to take his Sunday School Classes to the Wrightsville Beach Youth Center on Wednesday afternoon, August 3, for a swim and a picnic supper. Answers Timely Farm Questions Q. Mrs. M. M. Thigpen had charge of the Bible study. At the conclusion the hostess served tempting plate consisting of Jello on lettuce, toasted nuts, ritz and iced tea. Chicken Supper j Miss Calesta Thigpen was honor' ed on her 18th birthday with a chicken fry given by her mother, Mrs. M. M. Thigpen and Mr. and Mrs. Orvis Thigpen on July 26. Tips Are Given On Heat Illness "Healsickness and sunstroke are responsible for the loss of many lives each summer. With high tem peratures during the hot season, it is easy to be overcome by several forms of heat illness. Sunstroke results from prolonged exposure to the sun's rays. Heat stroke may result from excessive heat without exposure to the sun. The effects are the same in both cases, and may in some Instances prove fatal. Symptoms are: hot and dry skin, face red and flushed, high temperature, intense headache, breathing hard and loud, pupils enlarged but of equal size, and un conscloucnes.
