Mlddleton opened the meeting with prayer and Mrs. G. P. Pridgen pre sided. The devotional was given by Mrs. Claude Best The program was conducted by Mesdames Pridgen and J. M. West and dismissal by Mrs. H. R. Hipp. Ten were present. Enters Training Miss Melrose Cavenough, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Cave naugh of Warsaw, left Sunday for Newark, N, J., where she will go in. training at Saint Barnabas 'Hos pital.' She was a graduate of the Magnolia High . School. I Personals Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Jerry Albertson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Laughton Albertson has r turned home after spending several days in Dr. Sidbury's Hospital at Wrlghtsville Beach. Mr, Charlie Lane of Bowden is spending several weeks in Hot Springs, Ark. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Fussell and son of Greensboro spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Parker in Bowden. Raymond Wadkins of Dothan, Ala. left Sunday for home after vis iting his father R. F. Wadkins. Miss Mary Alice Blackmore re turned Sunday after two weeks va cation at Wrlghtsville Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Robert West at tended the funeral of her uncle, Mr. MRS. EARLE JONES, JR. who before her marriage on Sep tember 10 was Miss Melverna Cav enaugh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Cavenaugh of Warsaw, N. C. Mr. Jones is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earle Jones, Sr. of Raleigh, N. C. Van Wyck Hoke in Yancyville on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Avon Sharpe spent the week end In Brunswick, Ga. Mrs. W. A. Carter has returned after vititing relatives in Oxford, Chapel Hill and Roxboro. Miss Lois M. Godbold of Ocean View, Va., spent last week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Godbold. A total of 180 students will be chosen from these entries to ap pear on radio programs originating from WBIG, Greensboro; WBT, Charlotte; and WPTF, Raleigh. These programs will run for 13 Sunday afternoons, beginning on Nov. 6, and sponsored by American Mutual. Through a series of elimi nations final winners will be cho sen from this group. Essays submitted in the elimina dingtion contest will be judged by five out standing safety specialists and the radio forums will be judged by other prominent North Carolin ians.
