Mrs. Ida Lanier
Mrs. Ida Aman Lanier, 64, widow
of the late Walter P. Lanier died
Tuesday night following several
months of declining health at her
home in the Lyman Community
near Beulaville.
She was born February 22nd, 18
85 and was the daughter of the
late Alafair and Willis AmJn of
Sampson County. In early child
hood the family moved to Duplin
County and made their home in or
near Beulaville. She was married to
Walter P. Lanier in 1908 and was
a Charter Member of. the Bethel

Funeral services were conducted
at the Bethel Presbyterian Church
at 2:30 with her pastor James F.
Garvin assisted by Rev. Walter P.
Goodman, pastor of the Beulaville
Presbyterian Church. The body lay
in state for two hours prior to the
funeral service. Burial was in the
Lanier family cemetery near the
home. '
She is- survived by three sons,
Earl W. Lanier of Burlington, W.
Raleigh and Daniel W. Lanier of
Beulaville; one daughter, Mrs. Mark
Smith of the home community;
three brothers, Ivey Aman of Mt
Olive, Paul Aman of Myrtle Beach,
S. C, and P. H. Aman of Lynch
burg, Va.; five grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews., a
