Farm Questions
Q. What pecan varities are rec
ommended for planting in North
Carolina?
A. One of the biggest problems
in pecan production is scab disease.
Stuart is apparently the most
highly resistant variety to scab and
is being commonly grown in N. C.
Brake and Cape Fear varieties also
show good resistance to scab.
