I Since the, organlzatlot ot the
Cherry Point .Unit the Ladles have
'given an average of 6000 Volun
teer Hours per year. Their work
consists of giving parties such as
the one described above, and of
furnishing reading material such
as magazines and library books.
The, Ladies aid patients with their
correspondence, help in the Out
patient Department, teach Craft-
work to the patients, furnish games
and music in the ward and recre
ation room, supply cigarettes and
stationery and comfort articles to
the patients. There are Gray Ladles
on duty every week day and are on
call at all times.
The Ladies try to give the pa
tients a party each month. These
parties, "and other services men
tioned above are dependent solely
upon the donations of various Civic
Groups through' their local Red
Cross Chapters. These Chapters
have formed a Council for Volun
teer Service to Camp Lejeune and
Cherry Point
- The holiday season, always a
lonesome and homesick time for
those men in the service who are
hospitalized, has begun: it is booed
that the forth coming donations
will enable the Gray Lady Unit to
have especially fine parties on
Christmas.
recently sent ten Christmas gift
packages, attractively wrapped, and
valued at $1.80 each which will be

by the Kenansville Womans Club;
the Pat McGowan Chapter, Order
Eastern ' Star, - Wallace; and the
Business and Professional Women's
Club of Warsaw and Kenansville.
These and other .organizations
throughout the county plan to send
