Punch, nuts and mints were served along with the cake. ' ( The party was made possible hrough the donations of several vganizations. The largest ' money lonatlon was sent by the Temple Sisterhood of Hew Bern. Two other Jonations of equal amounts were sent by the Catholic Daughters of America, of Kington and the-Mise- ey-Bright D. A. R, Chapter In Kin jton. The nut cups were made and Sent by the Junior Red Cross of SUiabeth City. N. C. and New Bern. Other decorations such as Hats, Table Cloth, Napkins; etc were do hated by the American Red Cross. Their work consists of giving parties such as the one described above, and of furnishing reading material such as magazines and library books. The, Ladies aid patients with their correspondence, help in the Out patient Department, teach Craft- work to the patients, furnish games and music in the ward and recre ation room, supply cigarettes and stationery and comfort articles to the patients. There are Gray Ladles on duty every week day and are on call at all times. The Ladies try to give the pa tients a party each month. These parties, "and other services men tioned above are dependent solely upon the donations of various Civic Groups through' their local Red Cross Chapters. These Chapters have formed a Council for Volun teer Service to Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point - The holiday season, always a lonesome and homesick time for those men in the service who are hospitalized, has begun: it is booed that the forth coming donations will enable the Gray Lady Unit to have especially fine parties on Christmas. recently sent ten Christmas gift packages, attractively wrapped, and valued at $1.80 each which will be used on Christmas Eve to bring cheer to those patients in the dis pensory who canno go home for Christmas. The gifts were donated by the Kenansville Womans Club; the Pat McGowan Chapter, Order Eastern ' Star, - Wallace; and the Business and Professional Women's Club of Warsaw and Kenansville. These and other .organizations throughout the county plan to send at least 50 packages to Camp Le jeune by December 1st if possible. Gooding and Mrs. Reynolds. A short business meeting followed. Mrs. L. Souther land had charge of devotional clos ing. The next meeting will be held in the home of Mrs. G. V.
