N. C. Ht UDH.IN TRIES Friday, Lt!XErjrr,n,23nl, mm Nest Weak Candlelight At Christmas If i Christmas time once again And our hearts swell with Joy I At the sight of the happy faces 1 "' Of every little girl and boy. The Christmas tree has been up For almost a week It seems; And large red-ribboned boxes Have been in all our dreams. : Holly, mistletoe, and scented pine, ," .' Just don't seem to make Christmas right; iUnless, there is added to them all, Th faint, flickering candlelight. .The dim, dancing shadows sway, As the flame of the candle is blown JBy a sudden, passing gust . That comes from an unknown. " In the room filled with happy faces, , Awaiting the opening of the gifts on Christmas night. r Is seen the bubbling Joy from the heart, , !--. . That overflows in the candlelight. : Only the dim, dull lustre of candlelight, , Could bring forth such a radiance; .' As they let their eyes dance in wine ' . That made them drunk with Joy and brilliance. (("it. v'Eyes, all aglow and sparkling , - U ' : As the candle's flame, they reflect. For a moment so fleeting, j i ii Not a worry, are you able to detect. T , : : Flames of red, gold and orange v!; !) i Dance up the chimney from the fireplace 7n;.;Ane1 pass out as puffs of grey smoke, To float Into endless space. : t Nothing can hold more allurement Than the romantic candlelight, AS the rhythm of shadows . Is observed on continuous flight. . . , ; JThe dull dim of the light, :' Only helps to inerease the holiday feeling ' Which can be captured only once a year V-"t " When the shadows caper on the ceiling. Christmas is the time for honoring, The One who brought into the world, a pure love And along with our merry-making, " We should remember to praise our Almighty Malpr abov, So as it is again Christmas time, ' Let us think of that long ago Christmas night ' And again read that age old story, - As it is enhanced by the enchantment of candlelight.
