19BTov;n$!iip Fern Census : Survey 01 1949 Crops Every land owner in North Caro lina Is expected to make a land-use report to his township tax lister In January, 1950. This is not for tax purposes, nor are values or pro Huptlon to be included. - How is this Farm Census infor mation used to benefit the individ ual farmers? The benefits usually reach the .farmer Indirectly, just as is true with most economic and education al nroerams. After the Department of Agriculture completes the Farm Census, the published results are sent to those directly concerned, such ' as Crop Reporters, County nald Aarlcultural Workers, and other Educational Leaders. They use these County Statistics in de- 1 veloplng their own programs for better serving local farmers. Thus, the source and final usage is with the farmer himself. Perhaps the hMt of all of the numerous ways In which farmers reap real bene fits is the development of farmer thinking through the inventonat thinking habit, which in turn de-l uoinnn btter appreciation of the several agricultural programs, i How does this Census Aiieci om County Allotments? Th nnvernment allots acreages to the State according to their a- bility to prove past performances. These are broken down to counties according to their ability to prove past performances. In turn, we county breaks it down to individ ual farms according to their ability to Justify past performances. Thus, the more completely and accurately each farmer reports the better the fnctlfifatlnn all the way Ud the line. How might an individual farmer benefit from these reports? Th.t 4nniii on the Individual Just as our college-trained leaders are raising our general living stan dards, oi agricultural leaders are raising our local fanning standards. The Farm Census, provides them the needed local program working notarial for vour individual farm benefits. Through this information, paid agricultural workers have been able to better provide current inrni and adeotable services based or. information which the farmer himself furnished. Re nreoared to elve the Farm Census information when you list your taxes in January. , r. Greetings & Best Wishes For 19S0 ROYSTERS & V. C.
