THE DUPLIN TIMES 0 O A Honored : Mrs. Alton Exum entertained on Saturday afternoon honoring Ben ny Ray Thomas on his 8th birthday. Outdoor games were enjoyed by the 29 guests. Mrs. Exum served ice cream, cake, drinks, peanuts and bubble-gum. Benny Ray received many lovely and useful gifts. Mrs. Josephine White entertain ed on Saturday afternoon at a birthday party honoring her dau ghter, Mary Jo on her 5th birthday. Mrs. Andrew Jackson led out door games after which the little guests were invited into the dining room, the table was beautifully decorated with a white birthday cake with green and pink trimmings and lighted candles. Mrs. White served cold drinks, ice cream, cake and miniature red party baskets filled with candy. Mary Jo received many lovaly and useful gifts. . Layette Shower Mrs. J. D. Cottle, Mrs. Hubert Campbell and Mrs. Richard Bostic entertained in the home of the latter Tuesday night with a lovely layette shower for Mrs. Clay ton Campbell. L. Brown, Evangel izing, Teaching and Serving. Minutes and Roll Call were read by Mrs. R. L. Evans. Meeting was dismissed with prayer. Mrs. Larry Bostic honored her son "Butch" on his birthday Mon day afternoon when she entertain ed several of his little friends at i party. Outdoor games were played after which the guests were served ice cream, cake and candy in minia ture baskets in the valentine motif. "Butch" received many gifts from his friends. Auxiliary Meets The Women of the Presbyterian Church held their regular meeting at the home of Mrs. J. G. Kennedy Tuesday night. Mrs. Lou Belle Wil liams, vice president, presided in the absencer-of the president Mrs. Orlando Albertson led the group in singing In Christ We Trust and was assisted by members. The Bible study, John 18-19 The Path way of the Passion, was led by Mrs. M. M. Thigpen. The group discuss ed making the Harvest Festival and Bazaar an annual affair. At the close of the business meeting Edith Reg ister was Installed as a Tenderfoot Scout by Mrs. N. B. Boney; - Jaunita Dunn, senior patrol leader, assisted Mrs. Outlaw in ser ving cinnamon candies, chocolate cookies and punch. About 25 girls attended.
