"The : Younger Brothers," starring Wayne Morris, Janis Paige. Bruce Ben nett, Geraldine Brooks and Robert Hutton. It shows at the Capital Theatre here on Monday and Tues day. This action-filled tale of the old west is a unique combination of fact and fiction. The Younger bro thers were determined to regain their lost ranch land which had been pillaged, and they wanted most of all to return to their homes. The setting for "The Younger Brothers" is laid against that sec tion of the old west, which included certain portions of Minnesota near the Missouri border. Law and order were in a constant state of clashing, and in the midst of this atmosphere moved the rugged Y'oungers. The song writing team of Jay Liv ingston and Ray Evans, composers of "Buttons and Bows", provided four new Hit Parade potentia.i for Paramouul's "My Friend Irma," showing at the Capital here Thurs VWUMIII'f, A-if m : ' ? aeii-ueaning KEEPS THAT "NEWIY PAINTED" LOOK YEAR AFTER YEAR! Post Mice When All Hope Was Gone He Turned To God By: This is a true story and had it's beginning fifteen years ago in the thriving city of Albany, Ga. A young man who continued to feel very, very badly, went to a Spec ialist for a check-up, and was found to be in the last stages of tubercul osis. In four days after knowing his condition, he left with his nurse by train to enter a Sanitorium in Albuquerque, New Mexica, where he planned to undego treatment under the care of Dr. Leroy S. Pe ters who was at that time one of the best known doctors in the treat ment of that disease. A year passed, and his case was considerested as arrested, and he happily departed for home. He soon took over his business again, and for eight months, all went well. Then al most overnight, he suffered a hemorrhage of the lungs and on further examination, was found to have developed a very serious heart condition. Several doctors were called in and they all agreed that his case seemed a hopeless one and told his heart-broken family to keep him home as his days would not be very long. The dying man cried out, "Hey, wait a minute, Preacher, let me see those words." As he read these words from the Bible and realized their great meaning, he began to have hope, at first, only a feeble ray, but after all it was a beginning. After that morning, he began to read God's promises every waking moment, and as he told us later, he read half the night. He prayed continually, "Oh, Lord heal me, for after all, only You can do the impossible." The words, "Oh Ye of little faith, why dost thou doubt?" seemed to be forever In his thoughts as the long days and even longer nights slowly passed. It had now been four months since the doctors had told him that his case seemed hopeless, and yet he lived on, and continued to read, pray and to hope. During one of the visits of the loyal young Minister, he told him that he wanted to hear him preach and suggested that he come by for him the next Sunday As the day came, he, in spite of the grave misgivings of his and angry protests of his nurse, insist- ed that they allow him to dress. So when his friend stopped by, he found him fully dressed and with the exception of being a bit shaky from long lying in bed, he looked very, very handsome, or at least his anxious family thought so. Mir aculously, he stood the trip to church well and on his return, in sisted that he felt well enough to sit up a while. JOYNER There's a dear little lady of Du plin County whose three score and ten years plus have failed to damp en, her lovely and valiant spirit. She, with her snow white hair, can usually be seen, regardless of the weather, going about all over the little town where she lives, spread ing cheer. For as we all know, she ever has a cute smile and a kind and cheerful word for everyone regardless of station, race or creed. She is a consistant visitor of the sick and shut-ins. Well do I re member when I was a stranger there, and heart broken over the condition of my little boy who had suffered a broken" leg, regular ly she would walk from across town to visit and cheer me. Golden deeds such as hers are not readily for gotten. Surely these words were made for Miss Lula Hinson, of Kenansville, "For to know her, Is to love her." ' VMS. "Man's extremity la Indeed God's opportunity." He knows too that God has blessed him material ly as he 'is now one of the largest real estate owners in the county where he lives. He is very consci entious ip trying to use the money that God has given him to help others who haven't been as fortu nate. His close friends call him "Santa Claus" because of his daily kind deeds to others. And the strange part is he declares that the more he gives to the unfortunate, the more that seems to come to him. He leads a very busy, happy and full life, but no matter how busy he is, he always takes time before leaving home in the morn ing to humbly thank God for re storing his health and to ask that he be given an opportunity to help some unfortunate to a better life. It's getting so a farmer's daugh ter isn't safe these days safe from the movies, that is. The Denison, Iowa, miss, who was once a 4-H Girl, joins the ranks of such rural-born actresses as Ann Sheridan, Brenda Marshall, Jean Peters and Coleen Gray, all of whom had to remove hayseed from their hair before making the trek to the film capital. In fact, until she arnvea in Hollywood to attend college, Mis3 Reed had never worn high heels or used a stick of makeup. And it was her refreshing natural beauty that won her a motion picture con tract after she had been crowned campus queen. Nonetheless, she believes country girls planning film careers should be equipped with more than sun- tans. 'Take all the dancing lessons you can manage," she advises.
