YOUNG LADIES CIRCLE The Young Ladies Circle of the BeulavlUe Baptist Church met on Monday night in the home of Mrs. Orzo Thlgpen for their regular monthly meeting. Mrs. Thigpen presided. "O Master Let Me Walk With Thee" was sung by .the group. Prayer was led by Mrs. Louise Brown. The Scripture lesson was given by Mrs. Orvis Thigpen and Mrs. Elwood Qulnn read a poem written by Ralph Harlow. The program "How Christian is America?" was led by program chairman. Mrs. P. E. Thigpen talk ed on Economic Injustices. Mrs. Marion Bratcher talked on Prob lems Created by Alcoholic Bever ages, and Mrs. Louise Brown on Vital Christianity at Work. Roll call and minutes were given by Mrs. Roland Batcbelor. The prayer of dismissal was led by Mrs. Mar ion Bratcher. The hostess served a sweet course and iced drinks to the nine, mem bers present CLASS HONORED The Primary Department of the Presbyterian Sunday School was entertained recently with a party in the Geo. Washington motif by their teacher Miss Calesta Thig pen. Games and contests were en joyed. Willie Horne won in pin ning the hatchet on the cherry tree. Carroll Kennedy won in the puzzle contest and penny-pitch was won by Gene Taylor. Miss Thigpen served the little folks Ice cream, topped with cher ries, cakes, drinks and suckers. Wax rabbits were given for favors. CHURCH WOMEN The Presbyterian women of the Church met Thursday night in the auditorium for a special meeting to elect officers. The program op ened with group singing. President Mrs. Gardner Edwards presided. The ollowing new officers were elected: Pres. Mrs. M. M. Thigpen; Vice Pres. Mrs. Andrew Jackson; Secty. Mrs. J. G. HONORED Mrs. Annie Bostic was honored Sunday on her 63rd birtheday with a delightful birthday dinner. The home was attractively decorated with spring flowers and greenery. She carried a bride's bouuet of lillies of the vaUey, centered with a purple throated orchid.
