The remaining eight demonstra tions are located on- private farms and are being supervised by county agents wRh the aid of fl. M. Cov ington, extension horticulture spec ialist. Following are the counties, and farms where the demonstration fields are located. - Carle-ret County: Gardner 01111- kin of Bettie: Beaufort County: W, A. Broome and H. M. Lewis of Au rora: Tyrell, Brickhouse Farm near Columbia; Hyde, Leland Dudley of Swan Quarter; Pitt, Blount-Harvey Farm with A. L .Tucker as Diana ger, Greenville; Pasquatank, Jen nings farm near Weeksvllle; Curri tuck, Scott Ferbee, Sbawboro; and Camden, H. C. Ferbee of Camden. In addition to these plantings, the Southeastern Potato Committee is sponsoring five and ten-acre com mercial plantings throughout the area. John Broome, reports that two carloads of five- varieties have been distributed for large-scale trials. The varieties included in these tests are Chenango, Snow drift, White Cloud, Essex and Se bago. r Later this month, experiment scientists will make three plantings in the mountain potato area, located in Transylvania and Henderson and at the Upper Mountain Branch Sta tion near Laurel Springs.
