Street Methodist Church was the
scene Saturday night, March 25th
when Miss Annie Ben Beale, dau
ghter of Mr. and Mrs. William
James Beale of Greensboro became
the Bride of Horace Robinson Kor
negay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin
Earl Kornegay, also of Greensboro.
Dr. Eugene C. Few, pastor, offi
ciated at the 8 o'clock ceremony
after which Mr. and Mrs. Beale
entertained at a reception at Al
umnae House, Woman's College of
the University of North Carolina.
The bride was given in marriage
by her father and had for her hon
or attendants Miss Nancy Eliza
beth Beale, sister, and Mrs. Alfred
Lily, Jr., of New York City. There
were eight bridesmaids ,Miss Sa
rah Kornegay, sister of the groom;
Miss Eleanor Singletary, Miss Mil
dred Hayworth of Greensboro;
Miss Patricia Lane, cousin of the
bride of Winston-Salem; Miss Mary
Charlotte Hunt of Asheboro; Miss
Barbara Lynn of High Point; and
Miss Julia Pinnix of Atlanta, Ga.
Tne Dridegroom had his brother,
Marvin Loftin Kornegay, of Ral
eigh, for his best man and Charles
Hostetler of Raleigh was chief
usher. Other ushers were Kemp
Recce. Slcdinan Hines, Wallace
Harvex. Jr., John Person, all of
Greensboro: Ira Otis Wilkerson,
Jr.. of Raleigh; Arthur Chesson of
Wilson: William Harris of Cleve
land, Ohio; Richard Williams of
Maiden; and Guy Cox, Jr., of Chi
cago, 111. All of the groomsmen
were with Mr. Kornegay at Wake
Forest College.

University of North Carolina where
she was a member of Delta Delta
sorority. She is a member of the
Greensboro Thalian Spinster's Co
tillion. Mrs. Kornegay is a mem
ber of the faculty at Woman's Col
lege. Mr. Kornegay is a graduate of
Wake Forest and Wake Forest Law
School. While at Wake Forest he
was president of the Student Body
and of the Law School. He was list
ed for three consecutive years in
Who's Who in American Univer
sities and Colleges. He is a mem
ber of Omicron Delta Kappa, Al
pha Sigma Phi and Phi Delta Phi.
Mr. Kornegay is now practicing law
in Greensboro.

The Woman's Auxiliary of Grove
Church met at the church Monday
afternoon. President Mrs. J. A. Ga
vin presided. Mrs. L. Southerland
led the devotional. Reports of com
mittees and chairmen were given.
Officers installed for the new year

Pres., Mrs. G. V. Gooding; Secty.,

was assisted in serving by Mrs. H.
D. Williams and Miss Grace Baker.

was a three-tiered wedding cake.
After the couple had cut the first
slice, the cake was served by Mrs.

headquarters in Atlanta, Ga., will
speak on Stewardship. He will be
followed by Rev. J. A. Garrison
of Greensboro, Synod's Director
of Student Work, speaking on Stu
dent Work in our colleges and uni
versities. Rev. J. R. McGregor, D.
D., of Montreat, president of the
Mountain Retreat Association, will
speak on Montreat conference
grounds and Montreat College.
The business part of the pro
gram will be presided over by Mrs.
"Walter Sprunt of Wilmington,

Church of Wilmington Presbytery.
Mrs. Julian Hutaff, president of
the Women of the Church of the
Synod of North Carolina, will make
introductions and install newly
elected officers. A few reports of
the year's work will be made. The
