OTIONAI, KKAV1NUI fiaun HI God Has a Plan Lesson for May 18, MM GOD HANDS DOWN no blue prints. He never yet has been willing to save any man the trouble of thinking. The Bible Is God's guidebook, and in it la revealed God's will. But it is not guide book of such sort that you can take it from the shelf and look up in it the answer to .every one of your problems In detail. Neverthe less the Bible Is a guide, "the Infal lible rule of faith and . practice" as ami churches ax- press It. r. Foreman God's will is shown there plainly enough to that we can know wheth er we are building on the right foundation or not Sins Into The Sea MOW THE PLAN of God Is so le simple, that is. It can be so simply expressed, that one is al most tempted to say, "Oh, thatl" as If It were something we knew already. Well, we do know it But the thing Is, we don't do it Part of God's plan for mankind, very Important part, in fact In dispensablesomething the Bible talks about from the beginning to end is this: The forgiveness and the destruction of sins. (Micah 7: 18-20.) Now everybody can see others' sins. The Remans ased to say that every man carries others' sins In bag In front ef him where he east see them very well, but his own sins be carries In a bag hanging down his back where be cannot see them. We are all In favor of other peo ple's forsaking their sins. But how bout yon? The world does need to confess its sin; but you need to con fess your own. No sins walk by themselves; sins exist only in sin oers. Sin does not commit 'itself. Sin is something a sinner does. We shall never get rid of sins by exhorting other people. We get rid of them by repenting in the pres ence of God and receiving his for giveness. It is always so easy to think: If we only bad a good society we could have better people. That is backing into an idea the wrong way. The right idea is: If we have better people we shall be on the wsy to the good society. . If Not Peace, Then What? WE ALSO KNOW something about God's plan for society at large. The Bible does not leave us In the dark. One thing that Micah brings out is the ideal of peace. (Micah 4:1-9.) So long as we are making war, preparing for and expecting war, doing or saying things that make war inevitable or even likely, we are out of line with the will of God. Conversely, whatever we do to foster peace la In line with the plan of God. War was bad enough In the days of Micah; It is incal culably worse today. War always was the effect and cause ef hate. It always hrenght suffering and death, war seldom settled anything. Bat this Is the- atemle- age. Deaat Rusk ef the U.S. state department has said that la all present day discussions - we have te remember one solemn facts The hnaaaa race new has fa. Its hands the means ef Its -ewn fatal destnottea. Any war nowadays Is a war against the whole human race, for any large-soale war with atomio weapons may wan make the entire globe uninhabitable by man. A veto for war If a voice for uni versal death. ., . . Christ The King SINLESS MAN tat a warless world: such is God's plan. . Is this possible? Only on one condi tion; that Christ shall be king. (Micah 1:3-4.) This has two mean tugs, one far-off, and one near; one complete and one partial. The far-off, completed meaning (which may be nearer than we think) la that after the history of this planet is over and done with, In the "new heavens and the new earth" the final destiny of God's people Is to live under the Lord Christ as leader and king. :, ; The Bearer, here and new ; meaning ef Christ's kingship la this: .Wherever, fas the plana ef . .men. the spirit ef Christ; his . l .4ray aM his ideal, are being ' ! -trampled ea er ignored, there i ; Oed's plan is f ergettea sad r But wherever the spirit of Christ Is in control, there God's plan .is being carried out and there the Kingdom of God Is coming nearer.
