Clark, and Laughton Albertson ROTARY CLUB HAS STEAK SUPPER :" ' After a 3-month attendance con test put on by the Rotary Club, - the losing team, headed by Ralph Applewhite, was host Thursday evening to Hopton Smith's winning team at a steak supper. The meet- ing was presided over by E. C. Thompson, president. There were 17 present. WEINER ROAST FOR SENIORS The senior graduates enjoyed a welner roast Tuesday evening In the Scout Hut. They were enter tained by their class mascots, Har 'riet O'Leary and Graham Black burn. Mrs. Pat O'Leary and Mrs. Bertie Blackburn acted as hostesses and served welners, marshmallows and cold drinks to about 26. Group singing was also enjoyed. GARDEN CLUB Mrs. R. E. Wall was hostess to the Garden Club Thursday after noon at her home on Hill St. The home was beautifully deco rated with summer flowers brought by members. Speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. Paul Borden of Goldsboro, accompanied by Mrs. Best who was in charge of the recent flower show held in Goldsboro. They were in- troduced by Mrs. H. L. Stevens, Jr. Mrs. Borden spoke on flower arrangements. She Invited the War saw club to attend Judges School to be held in November in Golds boro. During business it was sug gested that a park be developed at the intersection of the new high way 117, for the model mile pro ject. Visitors included Mrs. John Fon vllle. Three new members, Mes dames J. W. Straughan, Kathleen Snyder and Allan Draughon, Sr. were admitted. 17 members were present. Mrs. Borden was presented a Jumbo cup and saucer set and Mrs. Best received corsage of yellow roses. The hostess served ice cream and cake with coffee. MISS PRIDGEN IS HONORED ITS THI BIG ECONOMY PACKAOII (Miss Hannah Pridgen, bride- elect of Warsaw, was honored on Friday evening, May 19, when Mrs. R. Grady entertained at her home in Kenansville with bridge. Four tables were in play. Arrangements of red roses, lark spur and pansies were used thru out the home. Guests were greeted by the hostess and pinned with miniature corsages of pansies. Tne bride-elect was presented a cor sage. Durins Dlav coca colas ana cheese straws were served. At the rnnrlnsifin of the evening, refresh ments of individual bridal Ices and cakes were served. Each plate held a uniaue candelabra with burning white candles. Outlaw, M.ot Faison, Rt. 3 died Monday at 0 p m. at the home of his niece Mrs. John T. Tyndall, after a brief Illness. Funeral ser vices were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the home with Rev. John Millard, Holiness minister of Mt. Olive in charge. Burial was In the family cemetery.
