Bright Leal" To Have Premier
Showing In Kenansville Theatre
The Capital Theatre in Kenans
ville has been chosen by the pro
ducers for a premier showing for
this section of "Bright Leaf", the
story of tobacco. The showing
dates here are June 14th and 15th.
No picture in recent; years has

talents of Gary Cooper, Lauren
Bacall, Patricia Neal and Jack Car
son and with famed director Mich
ael Curtiz in charge. "Bright
Leaf" was the center of attention
in the whole film colony from the
day it started preparation.

Rose Hill, May 27. The Rose
Hill Methodist Church was the
scene of a lovely afternoon wedding
on Sunday, May' 14, at 5 o'clock
when Miss Mary O. Jdhnson spoke
her marriage vos with Ralph
Warren Norman.
The Rev. Worth B. Cotton, pas
tor of the church, used the double
ring ceremony to unite the couple.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Nash Johnson of Rose
Hill, and the bridegroom of Rock
Hill, S. C, is the son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Norman of
Lincolnton, Ga.
Mrs. H. C. Marshall, organist,
and Miss Mary Eloise Balchum of
Goldsboro soloist, rendered a pro
gram of nuptial music.
The bride was given in marriage
by her father. The bodice of her
gown was of Chantilly lace over
taffeta with bouffant skirt of net
over taffeta. The deep cape and
illusion veil were edged dith Chan
tilly and she wore Chantilly lace
mitts. Her finaertiD length veil was
held in place with a tiara of orange,
blossoms.
She carried a white prayer book
topped with a-white purple-throated
orchid showered with satin stream
ers. Miss Geraldine Johnson, sister
of the bride, was her only attend

decade, the years 1890 to 1900,
when cigarette-making machines
were first introduced in the South
and the whole mighty empire
shook as a result of It. With Lau
ren Bacall as a tempestuous Sonia
Kovac and Patricia Neal playing
the great lady, Margaret Singleton,
Cooper has two leading ladies to
love and share picture honors.
Jack Carson, playing one of his
infrequent "straight" roles, and
Donald Crisp as the opposition in
story plot, are other leading names
in the all-star cast.

The bride is a graduate of Rose
Hill High School and attended High
Point College and Hardbarger's
Secretarial School in Raleigh.
Mr. Norman is a graduate of
High Point High School ana Hign
Point College. He served two years
in the Army.

feeds, seed,, flour and other grain
and farm products, under the firm
name and style of WABSAW
FLOUR AND FEED MILLS, has
this day been dissolved by mutual
consent
J. C. Surratt will collect all debts
owing to the firm-, and pay all
debts due by the firm.

Mrs. Louise McMillan Dies
Mrs. Louise B. McMillan, 67,
wife of H. D. McMillan died sud
denly Monday afternoon at her
home in Teachey. Funeral services
were held Wednesday afternoon at
3:30 at the Teachey Baptist Church
by her pastor Rev. E. C. Watson.
Burial was in Rockfish Cemetery
near Wallace.
In addition to her husband she
is survived by two sons, Moyer Mc
Millan of LaGrange, Ga., and Roy
McMillan of the home; one daugh
ter, Mrs. Louise Penilli of Teachey;
one. sister, Mrs. Coy Robinson of
Wallace; two brothers, John Bland
of Teachey and D. G. Bland of
Lumpkin, Ga.; and several grand'
children.
