Rev. N. P. Farrlor, pastor of the church, performed the double ring ceremony. Nuptial music was played at the piano by Mrs. Egbert Grady. The prelude was Lange's "Flower Song' and the Interlude, during the light ing of the altar candelabra, was "Traumeri" by Schumann; back ground music during the ceremony was MacDowell's 'To A Wild Rose." Preceding the ceremony, Miss Lou Anne Davis, accompanied by Mrs. Grady, sang "The Sweetest Story Ever Told" by Stults, and "Be cause" by d'Hardelot. The bride was attended by her maid of honor, Miss Elizabeth Anne Kornegay of Albertson. Mr. Kirby C. Loftin of Klnston, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The bride wore a tailored- suit of white sharkskin with a shoulder corsage of red roses and gypso phelia. She wore a cloche-type hat, and carried in her hand a white Bible with a single red rose. Her maid of honor, in an afternoon dress of pink voile with white ac cessories and -an arm bouquet of white gladioli, preceded the bride" into the church. On the arm of her brother, Mr. L. C. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J- Blanchard Souther land, well known residents of Al bertson. She attended B. F. Grady High School ' and was graduated last month. Mr. Loftin is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Kirby W. Loftin of Kinston. He was graduated from Southwood High School, attended the Univer sity of North Carolina and was graduated from Oak Ridge Military Institute in 1939. He attended the Chicago Conservatory of Music un til he was called to the Army, and served three years an an enlisted man in India. He worked during two years in Kinston as program director and chief announcer at radio stations WKNS and WFTC. For the past year he has studied at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. He was chosen for work in a noted choral group, Schola Cantorum, and has taken solo parts in several public performances. Immediately after the ceremony, the couple left for a brief honey moon. After June 10, they will be ate Tiome at 473 Central Park West, New York City. Mr. Loftin, who is in his senior year, will resume his studies shortly. Out of town guests for the wed ding included Mr. and Mrs. Horace G. Loftin of Beaufort and the sis ter of the bridegroom, Mrs. Edwin M. Snell, and children of Washing ton, D. C. On the eve of the wedding, fol lowing a rehearsal at the church, the betrothed cut a three-tiered wedding cake, decorated with pink and white roses of icing. Assisting in serving punch and cake were Miss Jewel Ann Sheppard and Miss Mebelle Outlaw. Gifts of kitchen- ware were presented by the Ladies Auxiliary of the church.
