Colorful summer flowers were used throughout the living and dining rooms where games were enjoyed. The climax of the evening came with reading of the advice of guests given to the bride. During play the hostesses served drinks and nuts. After adding the scores, Mrs. Amos Brinson was re membered with .stationery, Miss Brinson was presented a corsage of gardenias and pieces of crystal in her cosen pattern. The hostesses assisted by Mrs. Morris Brinson served strawberry shortcake. BRIDGE CLUB MEETS Mrs. J. B. Wallace was hostess to her bridge club Tuesday evening with Misses Hilda Clontz, Martha Pickett and Mrs. Robert McKenzie of Wilmington as guests. After several pro gressions and scores added, Mrs. Vance Gavin received high score for club members, Miss Clontz for visitors and Mrs. McKenzie was remembered with a gift. The hostess assisted by Mrs. Gavin served a delectable frozen fruit salad and coffee, and on each plate was an attractive hand paint ed miniature china urn filled with pansies as favors for the evening. CIRCLES MEET Hot dogs and all the trimmings were enjoyed by the members of the Ella Cooper Circle Monday ev ening with Mr. and Mrs. Colon Holland acting as hosts prior to the meeting. Following the roast the meeting was called to order by the chairman, Mrs. Henry West After the business session, Mrs. C. B. Guthrie, acting as program chair man, presented Mesdames J. O. Stokes, Willard Brinson and Bennie Bell who gave a most interesting review of the Mission Study Book on 'The Pastor of Little Creek." Circle No. 1 of Grove Presbyter ian Church met Monday afternoon In the home of Mrs. Clarence Mur phy. Mrs. N. B. Boney presided in the absepce of chairman Mrs. W. J. Pickett. Bible study, "Prayers of Samuel and his mother Hannah" was led by Mrs .L. Southerland. At the close the hostess served con gealed salad and iced tea. Circle No. 2 met Monday even ing in the home of its chairman, Miss Hilda Clontz, who had charge of the business session. The study on famous paintings of the Bible was conducted by Mrs. J. B. Wal lace. After business the hostess served ice cream and cake. ENTERTAINS AT BRIDGE PARTY On Friday afternoon and even ing Mrs. Caroline Gavin entertain ed at bridge in her home on Rut ledge Road. The living and dining rooms where tables were in play were ensuite for the occasion and arrangements of daisies and mixed summer flowers were used. Punch was served during play and at the close of games, the hostess served yellow and white block ice cream, pound cake and nuts. For the afternoon game, high score prize was won by Mrs. J. B. Wallace, who also captured travel ing prize and Mrs. G. V. Gooding received consolation prize. Mrs. L. Southerland received high score prize for rummy. High score prize for the evening party was won by Mrs. Jack Sit terson, second high went to Mrs. E. C. Tyndall and consolation was received by Mrs. I. C. Burch. WS OF CS MEETS The WS of OS met Monday night in the home of Mrs. W. M. Ingram. Mrs. Ingram led the devotional study "I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes." The Rev. Robert Marefield installed the new officers for the incoming year. Special guests were Miss Edna Fussell and Mrs. E. L. Lanier of Rose Hill, Zone Leaders for this district. After the meeting a social hour was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Brinson shopped in Goldsboro Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Percy Blanton and family of Cove City spent the week end with Mrs. Cora Brinson. Mrs. Emory Sadler spent several days in Raleigh last week. Emory Sadler, Jr. was a recent visitor in Wilson. Miss Janet Boney left Friday for Washington, D. C. where she Is employed by the government. Recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Sitterson were Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Sitterson, Jr. and children of Appleton, Wis. and Mrs. Flip Peele and daughters of Williams ton, N. C. Mrs. J. A. Hines left last week for her home in Highlands. Week end guests of Mrs. L.
