C. - - .-i-' mum in m Winner of one of the most coveted roles in motion picture history, ex quisite Hedy Lamarr had unwittingly auditioned for the part a full six years before producer-director Cecil B. DcMille actually signed her for his Technicolor epic, "Samson and Delilah", a Paramount picture that opens next Sunday at the Model Theatre in Beulaville. One of Miss Lamarr's early Hollywood efforts was the role1 of the be witching Tondeleyo in a picture called "White Cargo". The censor did the best they could to tone down the Viennese star's high-powered sexiness, but they were only partially successful. There's no way of con cealing Miss Lamarr's exciting, provocative beauty. Half-a-dozen years later, when DeMille was conducting a nation-wide search for an actress to play the lead in his latest biblical film, fa screened "White Cargo" in his private projection room. After only on look he was Interested, and after a second glance convinced that h had found the perfect "Delilah" In the person of luscious Hedy Lamarr.
