Duplin Man -Has Rolling Feed House The rolling chuck wagon of the west has nothing on a rolling tur key feed house owned by William Brice of Rose Hill. -This Duplin man feeds his 2,000 turkeys on range fro ma large feeder on wheels. His younger flock of 2,060 will be fed from an other rolling feed house when they go on range. According to L. W. Herrick, Jr., turkey specialist for the State Col lege Extension Service, Brice's feeder is a 10 by 26 foot trailer built on heavy truck chassis with storage room inside and self-feeder slung underneath. Brice moves It twjee a week with a tractor. This frequent moving keeps the turkeys on clean ground at all times and helps prevent disease. The center of the feed house is large enough to store 100 bags of feed, although Brice usually puts in anly 50 at a time. The feed is easily emptied into the four feed- cog In the battle year. FRIDAY, SnrTE'IDEIi 8th.. 1 en tht line the sides since the tlor boards are left out just above the feeders. ' Each feeder is about 10 feet long and 2 feet wide at teh bottom. One is slung in front and one be hind the Wheel on each side. The bottom part of each feeder is fast ened by wooden pegs and. may be removed when the trailer is moved over very rough ground. Since the feeders are slung under the trailer; both the feed and the turkeys are protected from rain and sun. -. There is even room for a cot in the feed room. The first night the turkeys were on range, quite a few were killed by either foxes or dogs. The next night Brice lay in wait i with ' a flashlight attached to a rifle. He caught a fox in action and since then hasn't lost any more turkeys. Funeral Services ForC.C.
