tions consisting of pines, Ivy, with

cathedral tapers in sevenbranched
candelabra. An arch entwined with
ivy, and fern formed a background
for the bridal couple. Family pews
wer marked with white satin jib
bon and white-burning tapers.
The candles were lighted by Earl
and Floyd Brown, brothers of the
bride. The couple, . entered the
church unattended. The bride was
attired in a powder blue dressmak
er suit with pink net blouse and
brown ' accessories.. She : wore a
; corsage of pink carnations.
. Mrs. Brown wore for her dau
ghter's wedding an aqua-blue crepe
dress with black accessories and a
corsage of white carnation
u ' Immediately after the wedding
ceremony the bridal couple left
for a wedding trip to unannounced
points. .
Mrs. Mercer is a graduate of
Beulaville High School and has
been employed at Standard Drug
Store la Kinston. Mr.. Mercer at
tended Beulaville School and is
engaged in farming in Beulaville
where the couple will make their
home.

Rites At Cabin
William Arthur Blizzard, 58, died
Tuesday morning at his home , in
the Cabin Community after having
been in declining health for the
past year.,,. , :TV".' -
Mr. Blizard was at. work in the
field when" he complained of feel
ing ill. He sat down to rest a few
minutes when stricken with a heart
attack he died In the field.
Funeral services were held on
Wednesday afternoon at 8 o'clock
at the Cabin Missionary Baptist
church by Rev. Walter Goodman
and Rev. Sam Kennedy Of Beula
ville.- Burial was In the. church

come by, smoke or flames, or the
floor broke in before she could

to believe she was trying to reach
a dining room door which led to the
outside. She was found near a chim
ney in a corner of the room.
Mr. Bryan, It was said, on reach
ing the outside, ran around to the
front of the house, but couldn't
even reach the porch due to the
flames, and knew that Mrs. Bryan
had not been able to get out He
was reported to have made two at
tempts tp re-enter the bouse for
her, but was driven back . by the

Mr. and Mrs. Bryan' had pur
chased the house, known as the
old Britt nome place", several
months ago, and undertook an ex
tensive lempdellnf . ' When com
pleted some weeks ago, It was de
clared to be a ahowplace for that
section. All modern conveniences
had been installed, and decorations
were of the very best Only Satur
day afternoon a 2316 Inch screen
television set bad been Installed.

bad the pleasure of knowing Mrs.
Bryan but from all reports she was
a woman of outstanding character
who loved her Lord and tried to
live accordingly. She was an ideal
wife, mother and homemaker. She
will be missed by all who knew her.
We are hoping for the best for Mr.
Bryan and the children. Though
somewhat of a new-comer to Du.
plin,- he is rapidly establishing
himself as a leader In the county
