C. n Army Liaison Office US Naval Hospital Corpus Christ!, Texas January 19, 1951 - Dear Friends: Due to the present world conflict, I, along with countless others, have been called back into the Army to serve a period of time, unpredictable as of now. My good mother and father have been managing "YORE STORE" for me. I feel this is too much of an added responsibility to ask of them; so, under these circumstances have decided to sell out to Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Booth. Wiley and Hilda are very well known to all of you and I'm sure they will appre ciate your business in the future as I have In the past. I'll appreciate any business you can throw their way and I'm sure they will be more than glad to serve you. May God bless each and everyone of you. Maybe I'll see you soon. Yours sincerely, Henry M. West, Jr. 4 I've Made By 1951 Farming Plans HAVE YOU? The way the world looks today makes me think that ' I've got to'put my (arm on afl-ont production, and I aim. to do jnst that. I've found out from a lot of pretty good farmers around here that the best plan is the balanced plan. Sure, I'm coins to raise as much tobacco as I can, and perhaps some cotton, but since -1 got some good lookinsrkdino-fescue pasture, I've also got a nice little dairy, herd started. In that way, TO have a year-round income, and a year-round balance of work. Oh yes, we're planning to plant a big garden, too! We're going to raise all of our Own food tight here on the . farm. We've found out in the last few years that by growing all the food the family needs, .we can save tight much money. ' Besides, frozen fresh vegetables ad meat ttite mighty good all winter long.
