F.J.Strickland ,
Floyd James Strickland, age SO,
prominent hardware merchant of
Warsaw died suddenly of a heart
attack Wednesday night May1 2nd
at 11:30 o'clock at his home.' ;
He was the son of the late Frank
and Eliza Parker Strickland and
was born near Warsaw In 1891 and
has resided there his entire life.
He was a member of the Warsaw
Baptist church and had been 1 a
member of the Board of Deacons
for the past 25 years. .
Funeral services were held from
the Warsaw Baptist church at 10:00
o'clock Saturday morning by Dr.
Alton W. Greenlaw, pastor assisted
by Rev Jerry Newbold, pastor of the
local presbyterian church and Rev.
R. L Crossno, pastor of the local
methodist church Interment was in
PInecrest cemetery. The Warsaw
Masonic lodge had change of the
services at the cemetery The Dea
cons of the church served as Hon
orary pallbearers.
He Is survived by his widow, the
former Irene McGowen of Bowden,
one son James Franklin Strickland
of Warsaw and one daughter Mrs.
Ben Cooper of Chapel Hill, two
gramkhrldren, thrte sisters Mrs.
W. Kirk of Norfolk, Va, Mrs. W W
Brown of Goldsboro and Mrs Ed
Smith of Pink Hill
