Mrs. QuinnJ was presented a corsage in nursery articles and was showered with an enumberous assortment of lovely gifts. The guests were invited into the dining room where the table was overlaid in a hand made lace cover and centered with an arrange ment of lillies and mixed summer flowers. Mrs. Hunter poured lime . ice and nuts and devils food cake was served from the table. Mrs. R. E. Thigpen president presided. Albertson en tertained at their home Saturday night honoring Mr, and Mrs. Hal lie Albertson with a mlscelleanous shower. ..The house en suite was decorat ed with mixed summer flowers, ice cram, nuts and cokes were served to the 73 who called. Mr. and Mrs. Albertson received an assortment of useful and lovely gifts. The Cedar Fork Baptist church was the scene of the formal wed ding of Miss Gwendolyn Thigpen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Thigpen of Beulaville and Mr. Norman Huffman. The double ring ceremony was performed (Friday August 24 at 6 o'clock by the Rev. A. L. Brown castor of the bride. 'The altar was banked with pines, and tall baskets of white glads, mums and lever tew interspersed with cathedral candle bra and lighted tapers. Prior to the ceremony a program of nuptial music was renuereu oy Miss Ruth Sanderson, pianist, and Mr. Rifton Raynor, soloist Tradit ional wedding marches were used. ' Mrs. Norman Mercer attended her sister as matron of honor. She wore a floor length dress of pink taffeta, featuring an off shoulder bertha oi the same and a bouffant skirt Her Queen Anne bonnett and mitts were of matching taffeta and she carried a basket of pink and blue 1 asters tied with blue satin ribbons. Honorary bridesmaids were Misses Lethea Gordon Thig pen, Hilda Brinson, Dehlia Jones and Lorraine Quinn. They;wore for mal gowns of pastel shades and cor sages of white carnations. The groom was attended by his father as Dipt man ana ushers were Gordon Thigpen, uncle of the bride of Beulaville and Murray Huffman, brother of the groom of Jackson ville. The bride was escorted and giv en In marriage bv her father. She wore a gown of white duchess sa tin fashioned with a yoke of nylon illusion having on off shoulder ber tha of chantilly lace. The fitted bodice and pointed waist were clo sed with tiny self - covered but tons. The full skirt with a peplum of chantilly lace extended into a court train encircled with lace of the same. She wore a satin tiara embroidered in seed pearls to which was attached a veil of french illusion, with a chantilly lace edge. She carried and arm bouquet of fleur-de-armous and stephonotis, centered with purple throated white orchids. The only ornament worn ,by the bride was a single string of pearls, a gift of the groom.
