Died Saturday
Mr. Minis K. Howard 75, prom
inent farmer of the Pink Hill sec
tion died at "his 'home about 3:45
a.m. Saturday. He had been re
ceiving treatment for an infection
on his face for some time and with
in recent weeks, had undergone the
amputation of one of his ears. He
had many friends in his home com
munity, funeral services were held

While attending the Shriners
dance in New Bern last Thursday
night Dr. and Mrs. D. W. Ruffin
had the misfortune of having their
Cadillac automobile stolen. It was
recovered, however, within a few
hours, parked - on another street,
and apparently was not damaged.
