And Mrsi Jeriy llewbald g - An informal reception was held last Wednesday in Honor or Kev. and Mrs. Jerry New bold who -are where be will be Superintendent of the Presbyterian orphanage. The ladles parlor of the Presby terian Church was beautifully dec orated with ivy clematis, gladiolas and iMriented summer flowers. The table was covered with an exquisite eutwork linen cover. Plac ed on it were silver trays holding decorated cakes and mints. A large silver punch bowl surround ed by a lovely arrangement of fresh fruit of all varieties completed the table decoration. Mrs. Newbold was presented a corsage of yellow roses. The guests were welcomed by Mrs. J. W. Fan-tor, Mrs. L. B. Hule, Mrs. James Middleton, Jr., Misses Sallie, Nell and Maggie Bowdcn. Punch was served by Mrs. Tom my Gresham. Others who assist ed in serving were Mesdames Ben Bowden, E. P. Ewers, William Sheffield, and Earl Hule. ' Out of town guests were Mrs. J. M. Newbold Sr, of Wilmington. Mr. and Mrs. W. Shaw and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Shaw of Fayettevllle. Those who assisted In decorating for the occasion were Mr. Walter Bridgers, Mrs.- Claibonrne Qulnn, Miss Nell Bowden and Mrs. John Pierce. Barbecue Supper Nets Over $100 A barbecue supper was held at the school cafeteria last Thursday, sponsored by the P.T.A. Over a hundred dollars were made at this time. This money will go toward feeding the underprivileged child ren of the Warsaw schools.
