Her husband Louis Henry Ellis, died four months ago. Funeral services were held at Millers Chapel Free Will Baptist Church Monday at 11 a. m. with the Rev. J. DCapps of Benson and the Rev. D. A. Harding of Dunn, Free Will Baptist ministers offi ciating. Burial was in the Herring family cemetery near Goldsboro. Mrs. Ellis was a native of Wayno County but had lived near Faison for 32 years. ... Calif. R. C. Van Voorhies . Richard Crosby Van Voorhies of Demarest, New Jersey, and Mount Vernon, Maine, died Saturday mor ning at the Englewood Hospital at the age of 45. He was vice presi dent and treasurer ' of the East Coa6t Aeronautic Company of Mount Vernon, New York. Born in New Iberia, Louisiana, Mr. Van Voorhies attended Staun ton Military Academy, Mercersburg Academy and the University of Virginia. He received a degree in Business Administration at New York Unversity. He was a mem ber of the Holland Society of New York, the Van Voorhies Associa tion, Delta Tau Delta and the Tau Beta Pi honorary engineering fra ternity. As an engineering management consultant. Mr. Van Voorhies has been associated with Fan Ameri can Airways in Maceo and Recife, Brazil; the Bermuda Air Base Con tractors, Raymond Concrete Pile Company, Mariacalbo, Venezuela; Lummus Co., Haifa, Palestine; the Duffy Construction Company, Lock land, Ohio; Blaw-Know Co., Pitts burgh, Foster Mfg. Co., Farmin ton, Maine; the George May Co., of Chicago and the Dunne Printing Co., of Louisville. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Lannlgan Van Voorhies, formerly of Charlottesville, Virginia, daugh ter of the late Heniy Haden 'Pop Lannlgan for many yean. Director of Athletics at the University of Virginia; mother and father, Letty Sealy and Walter F. Van Voorhies, and brother Macllburne Van Voor hies, all of Demarest. His sister in law, Mrs. Helen Caldwell Cushman is on the staff of the Duplin Times. His neice is Mrs. Guy Gooding Jr., of Raleigh and Kenansville.
