What are you doing about Christ mas this year not just about gifts and decorations, but what are you doing about Christmas Cards and what about the Christmas dinner itself. It's not too soon to start planning now. State College Extension Nutri tionist Virginia Wilson says, 'sim ple or elaborate let your Christ mas dinner also be a family affair.' Not only should the family share in eating, but in the getting ready for it as well. Most years, the mother of the family begins days or even weeks ahead of time bak ing fruit cakes 4lum pudding and other good dishes, and very fre quently she gets help from the oth er family members only in the form of sampling and licking the bowl. Miss Wilson says that this im portant part of the Christmas Day ceieoration will be more enjoyable if each member of the family helps in some way. One may set the table, using the very prettiest table cloth, dishes and silver, another may have fun planning and arrang ing and appropriate center piece using a bowl of fruit, candies, plus boughs or a Christmas snow scene. Small favors to mark each place at the table could be made from red birthday candles stuck Into a marshmallmv or gum drops. An other suggestion for colorful place cards is to cut Christmas trees or bells from colored construction pa per. These little 'extras' will real ly make your Christmas dinner seem more like the special occas ion that it is. A few quiet games played at the table can do much to make the dinner a merry occas ion. This year make your Christmas dinner something to be long re membered for the spirit that pre vails during the meal as well as for the good itself. Keep your menu simple, but have good food, well prepared and beautifully ser ved. And remember, it is Christmas Day, and certainly on this day you should begin the meal by return ing thanks for your many blessings.
