Hostesses for the month were Mrs. Hectpr McNeill, Mrs. Elbert Matthis and Mrs. Otto Matthews. Mrs. .Bill Sheffield, president of the Home Gardeners, presided. Mrs. J. T. Gresham opened the meeting with prayer followed by the group singing Christmas carols. . The Warsaw Garden Club pre sented the program as : follows: "Duties of Flower Schedule Com mittee" by Mrs. Hector McNeill; "Flower Show Classification" - by Mrs. E. P. Warsaw Gels New Telephone Directory The "new Warsaw telephone dl rectory is in the mail and will be received on or before Monday by telephone subscribers. This was dis closed by W. Y .Vann, local mana ger for Carolina and Telegraph Company. . - - Indicative of the' ttct that more people are getting more telephone service will be the brand new sect ion devoted to Beulaville. This sect ion will list some 90 telephone sub scribers who in the past have been listed as rural subscribers in the Kenansvllle section. Vann noted that about 23 of these Beulaville subscribers were new and had taken telephones because of the new dial office that Is to be placed in operation in Beulaville on De cember 18. Manager Vann has requested that telephone subscribers refer to their new directors when making tele phone calls to Beulaville after De cember 18 because of new numbers being assigned to telephones there. In fact, he said, it is always best to destroy old telephone directories once you have begun using the newly issued ones. In addition to the new Beulaville section, the Warsaw directory will also have a Kenansvllle, Rose Hill, Wallace and Faison section. Young People's Department With Mrs. Paul Potter at the or gan, and Mrs. Glenn Brown direct ing the adult chotJ! will feature a variety of musical presentations & choral readings. White Christmas Warsaw Baptist "Sharing that others may have" will be the emphasis of the White Christmas program at the Warsaw Baptist Church Sunday morning, December 20 which will be observed during the Sunday School hour. Leaving the church at 7 the youth will go by truck and cars to call at the homes of the many shut-ins of the community to sing carols and leave a special word of Christmas greet ing from the local Baptist Church. Following the caroling the group, will meet at the church where they will be joined by the adults for a period of fellowship and refresh ments Usually about 60 young people participate in this delightful Yuletide-occasion. Choir Vespers December 20th. The four choirs of the Warsaw Baptist Church, composed of ap proximately 60 voices, will present Vespers in music, the annual Christ mas musical, Sunday, December 20, at five o'clock. The public is cordP ally invited to share this worship experience through music. . Directing the primary and junior choirs will be Mrs. John Anderson Johnson. These newly reorganized children's choirs will present well known carols and children's favor ites. Civil Service The United States Civil Service Commission has announced that qualified printer-proofreaders are still urgently needed by the Govern -ment Printing Office in Washing ton, D. C. The positions to be filled pays $2.80 an hour. To qualify, applicants must pass a written test and have completed a 5-year printer's apprenticeship or have, had 5 years of practical ex perience In the printing trade. In addition, they must have had 1 year of experience in reading book or magazine proof or 2 years of ex perience in reading proof on a daily newspaper.
