Mrs. Gavin Entertains At Christmas Party (Intended For Last Week) ..One of the prettiest parties of the Christmas season was given on Monday evening of last week when Mrs. Vance B. Gavin entertained her bridge club and two additional tables of bridge. Her home en suit? On each plate was a lighted Christmas angel candle. High score prize for club members was won by Mrs. J. O. Stokes and visitors high Mrs. H. L. Stevens, Jr of Warsaw, Mrs. Stevens also won the prize for sitting in the lucky chair. The annual Christmas tree was then enjoyed, when club members exchanged gifts. Each visitor was presented a Christmas gift. In ad dition to club members, those at tending were: Mesdames Leo Jack son and J. A Gavin of Kenansville; Mesdames H. L. Stevens, Jr., E. P. Ewers, A. J. Guthrie entertained ) the bridge club on Tuesday even ing with all members present ex cept one whose place was filled by Miss Margaret Williams. The hostess served tempting pear salad, crackers, coffee, and assort ed cakes. When scores were totaled Mrs. Vance B. Gavin was awarded high core for club members and Miss Margaret Williams was ajjo remem bered with a gift, Mrs. Mitchell Entertains At Buffet Dinner Wednesday evening of last week. Mrs. Louise Mitchell was hostess to a buffet dinner when she entertain ed the choir members and their spouses. Christmas decorations were used throughout the house. After dinner the group enjoyed singing. About twenty-five guests attended. Guests wars greeted at the door by Mr. and Mrst J. L. Williams and introduced to the receiving line by Mr. R. V. Wells which was composed of Rev. and Mrs. Hayter, and Mr. and Mrs. Cameron of Wilmington, parents of the bride. At the and of the receiving line were Mr. J. B. Stroud and Mrs. Walter Stroud who directed the guests into, the hall where they were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. K. O. Littleton who direc ted them to the register which was kept by Mrs. J. A.
