Grcdy ALEXANDRIA, Va Feb, 11 Carol t Howard Grady, 10-year-old son, of Mr., and Mrs. John Davis Grady Jr. of Engleside, Va. Carroll, a fourth grade student at the Engleside School and a Cub Scout, was struck by an automobile near his home ' on Wednesday and died about three hours later Sur viving are his parents; one brother, John David Grady lit and one sis ter. Sherry Ann Grady, all of the home; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John D. Grady of Albertson;: his maternal grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Howard of Pink. Hill; and four aunts and three uncles. Funeral services were held at 2:30 P-m. Saturday from the home of his maternal grand parents at Pink Hill, with the Bev. N. P. Farrior. pastor of the Presby terian and Bev, J. R. Began, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the James McKay Grady family cemetery near Albert- son on Highway lit EXTINGUISH FIRE Pink Hill firemen extinguished a blaze, originating in a chicken house at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Howard n Pink Hill, min utes after it was reported, Friday morning. SHEPARD'S ILL Mrs. Matt Shepard has been ill with pneumonia at Parrott's Hospi tal in Klnston. Her Son, Ellis Shep ard, is also critically ill at the Vet erans Hospital in Durham. V.F.W. PRESENTS FLAG PINK HILL SCHOOL In an Impressive ceremony at the I Pjnk Hill School P.T.A. meeting Monaay mgni, an outaoor nag was presented to the school by members of the Willard Smith Post 9514 of VF.W. Principal Frank Wiley ac cepted the flag, on behalf of the school, after which the group pledg ed allegiance to the flag and sang the Star Spangled Banner. Taking part in the service were the follow ing auxiliary members: Carrie Pick ett, President; Bertie Howard, Er- celle Harper, Linda Smith, Kath erine Tyndall and Lois Johnson. PARTY FOR VETS The following members of the Willard Smith Post 9514 of the V.F.W. and Auxiliary gave a party for disabled Vets at the Hospital in Fayetteville Friday night, Feb ruary 5: Mr. and Mrs. Ethro Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Tyndall, Mr. and Mrs. Jepsey Pickett, Haywood Stroud, Lois Johnson, Linda Smith, Helen Turner, Zoa Turner, Lottie Smith and Mildred Howard. TURKEY DINNER The women of the Pink Hill Methodist Church served a turkey supper in the basement of the Church Thursday night. Proceeds benefitted a church cause. MRS. SILLS RESIGNS Mrs. L. J. Mr. and Mrs. Coolegge Turner were at Sanitarium Sunday to take Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Stroud, who visited Mr. Stroud's father, Mr. Lonie G. Stroud, a patient there. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Nethercutt and son Curtis of Raleigh, spent the week end with relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wolever- of Wilmington have been visiting Mrs. Wolever's mother, Mrs. Ann Smith and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Grady of Wilson visited Mrs. Walter Smith Sunday afternoon.
