The purpose of these meetings is to hear from farm ers, handlers, and consumers the problems involved in the marketing of North Carolina's fruits and vege tables. After hearing these problems, the Commission hopes to come up with a solution and to establish a marketing system that will insure producers a fair price for their pro ducts. In order to be of assistance to the Commission in soiving our many marketing problems, there should be a good attendance of1 producers, handlers, and consumers at all of these meetings. , Unused Peanut Allotments Farmers who will not plant all of their 1954 peanut allotment are urged to release the unused acreage to the County Agricultural Stabili zation and Conservation Committee, This acreage then may be appor tioned to other growers in the coun ty, states J. L. Nicholson, Market ing Quota Specialist for the ASC, The final date for releasing 1954 peanut acreage will be announced at a later date. Nicholson points out that , the grower who release acreage; lot 1954 may still have ft counted In determinine the allotment for his farm in 1955 and future years un less the farm becomes ineligible for a 1955 old farm allotment because no peanuts were picked of threshed 0 nthe farm in 1952, 1953, or 1954.
