C, where folk music and dancing are taught and in other ways, help to keep a- live the rich heritage of folk lore in that section of the county. Fus sell, president, presiding. The meet ing was opened .with the club woman's Hymn followed with pray er by the chaplain, Mrs. R. L. Cart. During the business , session, Mrs. L. Clayton Herring announced that the whole town of Rose Hill was included in the clean-up, paint-up, fix-up campaign currently sponsor ed by the club; that the judges had made their first tour of inspection and would return at the end of the campaign to award prizes. The President announced that Mrs. Earl Jones had volunteered her services as girl Scout Leader. Mrs. Jones will begin active duty j in the fall. Mrs. Laura Ramsey's application for club membership was most happily received. The Welfare Department of the club is attempting to build up a clothes closet in the school to sup ply the needs of underprivileged children and urged the cooperation of all club members and school pa trons who feel that .they have some article to contribute. . The Garden Department of 'the club was in charge of the program. Mrs. E. G. Murray, chairman, pre sented Mr .Harry G. Davis of Golds boro. Field representative for Cali fornia Spray Chemical corporation, who showed a film depicting the beauty and uniqueness of European Gardens, beginning with the Royal Gardens in England, and traveling from there through France, Swit zerland, Italy and Holland. Follow ing the film, Mr. Davis gave some very timely comments on the con-: trol of many plant diseases and insects. Mrs. Steve Wilkins, accompanied by her daughter? Miss Jane Wilkins delighted the audience with a vocal solo "Trees". At the close of. the program the club members and their guests were invited into the school lunchroom where a lovely Spring Flower Show had been arranged. Mrs. W. T. Blanchaod, chairman of the judges, commented on the arrangements, explaining their reasons for selec ting certain arrangements as win ners. Fussell and theif fourth grade" stu dents gave the devotional, includ ing a safety play, "In the Doctor's Office." Mrs- James Ward presented the program; a' film on Mental Health of Jupiter. Mr. James Ward intro duced and explained the film. Miss Hamilton's fourth grade won the attendance pennant and gift, for having the most parents present. Circle No. '2 will have charge of this Sat urday's sale. Everyone is urged to come out 'and buy. To Present Recital Mrs. L. K. Alderman will present her Faison Elementary Piano Pupils in a piano recital, Thursday, April 1, in the school auditorium. The program will also be com posed of Glee Club numbers and dancing selections. The public is cordially invited. Bride-Elect V Miss Elsie Hall, bride-elect of April, 18 was honored ; Saturday evening .when Mrs. Herman Miller entertained with a lingerie shower in the home of Mrs. Ralph Miller.
