Milloy all made a pleasure trip to Turkey last Monday to visit old friends, Mr. and Mrs. David CQuinn and family, Mrs. Bernice Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. Will Carroll and also, made a shori stop to see the Rev. and Mrs. Powers who reside there. Stopping over later at Beulaville to chat with Mrs, Vick Sandlin Davis for a short time. Mr. Johnny Hollingsworth who has been partially laid up with colds for recent weeks now seems to be getting some better with the spring days. Here's hoping ne wui be out well again soon. Mr. Grady Mercer of Kenansville and Beulaville was seen recently, "Running" for County Judge; It's known that he's as hot on the "win ning ticket" his pockets are full of "Fire". Of course, I mean the FREE matches his name and picture cov ers! Well, we have to have a Judge -t6 be JUDGED! Mr. Mercer was and still is a native of Cabin and Beulaville - don't forget to vote for him, will you? What he is - he made himself - been county Solici tor for the past '8 years. Remember him on May 29 - vote for him. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Lanier and family visited with her sister and familv last Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wood with other friends and relatives of the family. He died at his home in Beulaville, North Carolina, Satur day, March 27, 1954 at 10:00 a.m. and was buried Sunday March 23, 1954 in the family cemetery at Sandy Plain Free Will Baptist church near Beulaville, North Caro lina. The love, Kindness, and sym pathy shown by his and our friends during his illness and at the time of his death is greatly appreciated by each of us. Presiding as toastmaster was Leland Harper, president of the Junior Class. Earl Quinn gave the invocation. "Out side of Heaven" was sung by Jean nette Kelly. The toast to the Sen iors was given by Grace Walker. The response was given by Lester Britt, president of the Senior class. The theme was "Starlight", carry ing out the colors of blue and sil ver. Blue candles arrayed with small silver stars and anchored in silver candle holders decorated the tables. Red roses were used as the center piece for the guest table. Silver lac over blue crepe paper was used down the . sides ot the tables. The walls were decorated with sil ver stars with half moon directly behind the toastmaster. Blue stream ers hung from the ceiling with silver stars hanging from the lights. Immediately after the banquet, a dance was enjoyed. The music was rendered by the Sasser Band from Goldsboro.
