Carter, Mrs. Carrie Peale, and Mrs. Katie Herring held Sunday School for the aged. Mrs. C. J. Brown taught the class. After Sunday School all of the folks enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt out on the back lawn. There are sixteen people in the Home. Each one was able to get out and help find eggs, with help in getting them down the steps, except two who were moved near the door where they could look out and see the folks scramble for eggs. Miss Tew was the lucky winner, finding the most eggs. Mrs. G. F. Brown, Mrs. John Hall, Mrs. Leo Batson and Sharron Hall hid the eggs. It was lots of fun to these folks out look ing for eggs. Club Meets (Intended for last week) "You can give your home sewing that professional look," Mrs. Paul ine S. Johnson told the Early Morn ing Home Demonstration Club, which met with Mrs. E. R. Dail on Tuesday. Miss Cora Wells led the devotional with the group singing, "The Old North State." After the demonstration several project leaders reported. Mrs. J. D. Kornegay invited the group to meet with her in May. The hostess served soft drinks and cookies. Junior Class Attends High School DayAtE.CC. (Written for last week) The Juniors of Kenansville High School visited East Carolina on High School Day, April 9. We start ed the day by listening to a con cert by the College Orchestra and a welcome by the president of the College. We visited the Educational Buildings and later in the afternoon we went to see a play called "Ba nana Moon." The principal, Mr. Frazelle, and Mrs. Brinson, and Miss Emily Riv enbark accompanied us. Janet Tea chey, Marguerite Register, and Mil lie Ivey, graduates of Kenansville High School were our guides. The day was enjoyed by all. ' . The supper was enjoyed by all. Women Of Grove Met Monday A general meeting of the Women of Grove Church was held Monday afternoon at 3:30 in the Sunday School building. Mrs. N. B. Boney presided over the meeting and conducted the brief devotional. After the business session an in teresting program, "World Chris tian Youth Blaze New Paths" was presented by Jimmy Bowden. The closing devotional was given by Barbara Mitchell which was, "Bound Together In Christ." A goodly number attended. OES Chapter 215, Order of Eastern Star held its regular meeting Tues day evening. Worthy Matron Kath leen Snyder presided. After the routine business session, a program, "12 Land Marks of the O.E.S." was presented by Mrs. E. A. Newton and Mrs. Clarence Murphy. A social hour was held at the close of the meeting. Mrs. Sadler Hostess lo Garden Club Mrs. E. W. Sadler was hostess to the members of the Kenansville Garden Club on Monday evening with a good attendance. Mrs. Bess Hines was a guest for the occasion. Flower arrangements done by Mrs. Sadler and Mrs. Ed Simpson made an attractive setting for the room in which the meeting was held. The president,. Mrs. C. 3. Guthrie opened the meeting with the club collect read in unison. Mrs. H. L. Pippin, chairman of the flower show committee, was called on for a re port. She reported that the commit tee had decided to postpone the flower show until a later date. It was voted on to have a same tourn ament In June and to donate some money to the cancer drive. Mrs. Ed Simpson had charee of the program and showed a film on "Birds Helpful to Agriculture." She stat ed that the Elizabehan Garden was sarted on Coronation day to depict the culture of England in Queen Elizabeth's Day in the sixteenth century and also the present Queen Elizabeth. She told' of the begin ning of the garden and of various plans made for,tl)e garden on Roanoke Island. She told how a man from Georgia had already given one hundred thousand dollars worth of valuables for- the garden. The Garden Clubs of North Carolina are anxious to have the garden opened before the opening of the pageant "The Lost Colony."
